The way you wrote vampirism into the story was awesome. I really got a sense of how it functions (or doesn't) in the city. The darker fringe world that some know about and avoid, others are blissfully ignorant of.
Also, Seventeen and Maldusk are quite opposite indeed, light and dark...
And "blah blah blah" was quite telling too XD
