Reuben sure is having a rough day (and it's not even noon yet...). Perfect timing for Johnny Bright to show up.
You pretty well sum up the whole fiasco. Reuben really made a blunder not wiping himself from the memories of Jonathan or those two ladies. And they're still out there, having definitely witnessed that Reuben is a vampire.
