This thread is to share the stories of the young Sims in my games who were left orphans due to the neighborhood stories accidental deaths or their parents dying of old age. The idea of giving lives ...
Hello and welcome back to another Valley Orphan story. This time with a teenager named, Coal. Hope you all enjoy the story I made up for him followed by a few candid picture of his last few days of autumn.
COAL’S JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE
Poor Coal had a rough start in life when his mother became homeless before he was born due to some unforeseen circumstances in her life when his father abandoned the family and left them penniless. Despite being pregnant with Coal, his mother did her best to pay the bills but eventually her money ran out and she ended up being evicted from her apartment and forced to live on the streets before Coal was born. Since Coal was too young to know his mother’s name, we will call her Jane Doe. Jane had a hard time finding employment except from some low paying odd jobs which were barely enough to keep her and her infant son nourished as they lived under a cardboard box in one of San Myshuno’s back alleys. Jane always made sure she could feed little Coal but most of the time there was barely enough food for herself which caused her to go hungry most days which led to many health issues but with no money to seek help.
On an extremely cold night in the middle of winter Jane froze to death while making sure that little Coal was kept warm by the only blanket she owned. Coal was too young at the time to know his mother’s name but over time the investigators were able to glean enough information to determine what had happened to Jane Doe, whose frozen body was found next to her infant son who was found alive under the blanket next to her. Little Coal was taken to the local orphanage when his father could not be located where he was well cared for during his early childhood and grade school years. Due to the overwhelming number of young orphans, Social workers give teenagers an opportunity to move out on their own and are given the funds necessary to find a starter home for themselves after teaching them the necessary life skills they need. Coal decided to take them up offer. His social worker was able to find a nice starter home for him in Copperdale where Coal would be near the high school he would attend.
Fast forward to today, Coal is doing well in school and has made many friends and is now recognized for having a ‘pristine’ reputation. In addition to his studies, Coal was a member of the high school drama club until getting a job in retail that would help him complete his teenage dream of being ‘Goal-Orientated. Coal grew up loving vegetables and enjoyed his ‘maker’ skills to create things that he could sell for extra spending money while he was in the orphanage which he hopes to continue after graduating from high school. Due to being left an orphan so young, Coal has fears of being alone, cheated on and failing tests. After acing his most recent high school exams, Coal has more confidence in taking tests but is not quite over his fear but that will come over time along with the other fears that he has.
Now for some candid photos from the second half of autumn in Copperdale.
Coal loves to dance to unwind from school or working at his part-time job in retail.
During the Harvestfest holiday, Coal enjoyed a nice date with his high school romantic partner, Ann Pleasant who, along with her brother, Tyrone are also part of the Valley Orphan households but will save their story for my next visit with them. While Coal and Ann have enjoyed a few romantic moments, they have decided to just be best friends for the remainder of their High School years and save the more personal stuff for when they grow up. Coal and Ann also enjoyed attending the prom together as 'good friends' .
After studying hard for his exam, Coal is confidentially writing down his answers and passed with flying colors. Hopefully this will diminish his fear of 'failing tests' after he didn't pass his previous exam.
Coal was vote King at the fall prom in Copperdale, while one of his best friends, Ryo (below) was the prom's Jester. Ryo will tell his orphan story in my next visit with his family.
This is Paris Phong and although she's not part of my stories I'm sharing a bit of her story. She was adopted as a young child by one of the robot sims in Valley Ventures who lived next door to Kaiden Haas while growing up. Paris and her father have since moved out and we'll see if they find a new place to call home.
Will leave you with this picture of Kaiden Haas after writing his exam.
That's all for now and hope that you're all having a Fantastic Friday!
