What do you think we're arguing about here? We're not.
We could be arguing...
Why are you wearing that shirt? Wear a different shirt. I could argue about anything. :p
Pineapple on pizza?
Vegemite?
Who invented the pav?
Lamb on Australia day?
Lee Lin Chin?
One sentence in my many other words revealed I lived in a college in Australia - (which you thought 'odd' for some reason). It is quite odd. Of the couple of hundred people I know who attended uni, only 5 used university dorm housing.
Personally, I moved from about as sticks as sticks get, to the state capital, I looked into student housing, but it was outrageously expensive. For $10 a week more, I could get a whole 2 br flat to myself, so why would I want one tiny bedroom, with no space to swing a cat (not to mention no room to have friends crash!)? I very quickly learned that hardly any other students used student housing. I had a flatmate for a while, which halved my living costs.
And then there's one group of my crazy friends. 5 people in a 4 br house, at least that's how it started, until everyone had their other half move in.... and then someones brother moved in, didn't even have his own bedroom, just slept in the closed in pack porch. NINE people in a 4 bedroom house! I think they had about a 10 minute bus ride to uni.
As for colleges, I attended a senior college, aka a 'high school' that only offered years 11 and 12 (and 13).
I have several friends that attended private collages, aka private schools.
I've got some friends who are a part of the college of medicine.
And I'm scared of my engineers college friends, cos they do scary thing with relocating cars, and we must trust them in their building of buildings and bridges. Engineers: they keep the concrete off of our ears.
I start off saying I'd like to customise as much as possible, use the word options etc because I'd like to have different experiences with my sims. Some will live in dorms (or as I'm used to calling them: colleges), some hopefully will get to live in campus in houses with room-mates, others will study from their home residence. So I'm not sure why you think I'm trying to restrict our gameplay. It'll be up to each player what the 'majority' if their students do. I just hope - personally - that the Uni pack comes with residential options (and not just a 'dedicated lot' experience like the Science Career etc.), but something a little more like Sims 2 uni experience.
I love options. I'd marry them if I could... OR at lest I'd make one of my sims marry a bunch of options.
A wide variety of options is what the game currently lacks.
Why can't we have the option to throw away that annoying phone?
Why can't we have the option to read a newspaper?
Where's the option to part time uni, while working, to gain a bigger promotion?
