I definitely want you in on my pitch meeting. Go take a look at the Kichen Pack by Felixandresims (yes, it's spelled that way.) I swear I didn't see this before I typed my post but this pack could have been an EA pack. The kitchen we should have had, the dishes we should have had.
Somebody made this in their spare time. There are private citizens whose buy mode output equals that of the Maxis studio and they hold down whole other full-time jobs. This tells me a lot about Maxis' internal bureaucracy and corporate culture.
I know this post is tl;dr for most people. The point I'm trying to make is the the Sims 4 team tend to overthink things and it would sometimes be better for us and them if they would maximize what they have.
