Which is Granite Falls.
I wouldn't mind if they expand Granite Falls to include skiing, especially in the area where the hermit lives. They could add severe climate, so you get snow good for skiing from late fall to late spring, maybe even beginning of summer, and summer would be more like late spring with small patches of snow here and there. I haven't heard of any skiing resorts that high up the mountain that you get year round snow. However, this is the sims and it doesn't really have to be thoroughly realistic.
