I loved vacations/travel in previous games. It was one of my favorite things to do with my sims. I just started playing Sims 4 and am frustrated because I feel like there are so many limits to the worlds. In TS1, I loved sending my sims to the lodge to snowboard and camp. I know they have the camping game pack, but I want a ski lodge with snowboarding again. I love TS2 travel more than TS3. I really wish they had spent more time on the vacation worlds in TS3 and had real restaurants. Paris was such a huge disappointment. Give me real restaurants, hotels, and other fun things t do! I'd love to have the "far east," Paris, and Egypt back but better. I love the idea of a Safari vacation, too. The worlds have to be fully fleshed out though. I don't even care if they give us a vacation expansion pack and then add a game pack to provide even more destinations later. My favorite expansion to play is Island Living, but I had to use Dine Out and Spa Day to add more depth to the world.
It bothers me how disconnected everything is in TS4. They've separated everything out into expansion packs, game packs, and stuff packs to make money, but it has made the game feel watered down. I was looking at my options and trying to decide what to purchase first. I noticed that the content we used to get in a single expansion pack is now dramatically thinned to make these other packs. Sorry for the rant. I'm just mad that I've been playing the sims for 20 years and feel like we have take one step forward and three steps back.
