Day 3, Pt. 1
Hello my blogging friends, hope all is well with you today. I will say that today was a bit more adventurous than the first 2 days of my trip, so read on to see how my day went. Enjoy!
I woke up early today as I wanted to get a head start on exploring further into the jungle but was met with bats invading my vacation home. This was not in the description of the house on the website where I had found this rental at and there wasn't any reviews about this property as well. Oh well, not much I can do about that now, so I might as well just get used to the fact that this house has other guests staying in it even if they are the flying mammal type.
Then I go into the bathroom to do my morning business and was met with a humongous spider descending down from the ceiling and landing on my shoulder. I hate spiders of any kind, so thankfully I had some bug spray in my utility bag that I used on it. A dead bug is a good bug.
And of course, when I ate my breakfast outside, I was attacked yet again by the mosquitos of the jungle. I wonder what else the jungle holds when it comes to these pesky bugs and other creepy crawlers. Hopefully I don't run into any snakes, but I doubt that as the jungles that I have seen on TV and the books all have snakes.
After I had finished cleaning up my dirty plate, I headed on over to Belomisia Trailhead which is a national park and it also has a gateway to the jungle. But when I got there, the entrance was overgrown with large brambles. It's a good thing that I had brought some machetes with me but before I started hacking away at the brambles, I went over to read the sign that was next to gateway. Of course one of the warnings on the sign says to "Enter at your own risk.".
So I got right to work hacking away at the brambles until they were all removed from the entrance. Once they were removed, I slowly walked towards the entrance and stopped to do a careful glance around before proceeding any further into the jungle. You never know if there will be any types of traps or poison darts coming at you as that wouldn't be too good to have. I've watched enough Indiana Jones and Lara Croft Tomb raiders movies to know that I shouldn't just rush right in like I was going Christmas on Black Friday and not expect anything bad to happen.
Once I felt that is, was okay to go in, I walked around exploring the surrounding area until I came across a small group of capybaras hanging out by the watering hole. Of course, I stayed back at a distance as I didn't want to disturb them and either have them run off or turn around and attack me. As I was watching them, I noticed that one of them had wandered off near a swarm of bees and got quite concerned about its safety, but yet I still didn't want my presence to be known to them, so I just sat back and watched if the bees would attack the capybara. At least the capybara wasn't too bothered with the bees buzzing but the bees wasn't too happy and instead of going after the capybara, they headed off in my direction. Time to run!!!
I ran as fast as I could back to the gateway to try to escape my attackers but they just kept on following me until I had passed out from the fear and from exhaustion.
When I didn't hear the buzzing around me anymore, I woke up and searched the area around me for the bees but they seem to have disappeared. But in my search, I had spotted a couple of rocks that I went straight to work hammering and chiseling away at them until I had collected my rewards from them.
Ok, I will end right here for now but I still have more stuff that I did on this day, so I will be back later as I need to go grab me a bite to eat.
See ya later!

It was not a good start to her day with her home being invaded by bats, then finding a large spider on her shoulder, then being attacked by mosquitoes again! 🙁 She then was later on forced to flee from the bees! She is battling many forms of insect and animal problems in the jungle. It was great though that she was able to find some rocks and collect items from them.
