The ladies were dropped off at the compound early, and for a good portion of the morning stood around looking rather lost. I suppose that’s fair enough; they had expected to meet their bachelor and begin their journey to find love. Instead they were to be left to their own devices for 24 hours, allowing them to settle in and get to know each other and the compound they would be calling home for the next several months.

The shock wore off after a little while, and everyone loosened up enough to begin chatting. Claire took the opportunity to scare Jewel, baring her (thankfully non-existent) fangs and claws at the other pink-haired girl. One wonders if she was establishing her dominance as alpha pink-hair-girl? Regardless, Jewel took the spook in stride, laughing it off and continuing to chat with Claire.

Miranda and Alexa left the group quickly and were the first in the pool, embarrassingly enough in the exact same swimsuit. Fortunately, the two ladies appeared to bond over their mutual love of all things black and beaded.

Meanwhile, a random man sporting an impressive mohawk showed up on the grounds, and was greeted enthusiastically by Electra, while Bella and Claire looked on, wondering if this man was their bachelor. Genevieve gave the group a cursory smirk and strutted away, appearing incredulous that the other girls could think this man was their bachelor.

As the afternoon progressed, the ladies all found their way into the pools, although Regina sat quietly on the sidelines, apparently content to watch the frivolity.

Genevieve smacked the punching bag around for much of the afternoon, forgoing the relaxation of the pools in favour of working on her physique.

Evening found Lilith and Alexa floating companionably in one of the pools, ignoring the chatting and eating and dancing going on around them.

Miranda charmed yet another lady, this time having Bella in stitches at her jokes, while the ever-quiet Regina looked on.

Meanwhile, some of the other ladies abandoned the pools for an impromptu dance party in one of the huts. Alexandra stood in the back eating grilled cheese and appearing quite embarrassed at the other girls’ attempts at dancing.

Finally, the first day of the Bachelor came to a close, with all the ladies exhausted from the excitement and anticipating meeting their bachelor the following morning.
