Reuben and I had talked about wanting to go surfing after our last date at the beach. He mentioned that he loved surfing so I arranged to meet him there. What he didn't know is that I had also planned something even more risque for later the same day.
"So are you ready for this, Mel?" Reuben asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be. I'm warning you now, I'm not the greatest surfer and I'm not as fit as Kimmy, but I do love the water so I'll give it my best shot. I will take these earrings off before we go in. I doubt they would be very safe while we surfed."
"I'll pick you up if you fall, Mel," Reuben winked.
"Oh? Then let's get going," I said smiling.
Reuben took me out on his surfboard to where the big waves came in.
"You okay back there?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm looking forward to it, but it's nice just being here with you," I said resting my head on his back as we moved further out.
"This was a great idea and I have been dying to get out there and do a bit of surfing. I see the police nabbed your stalker and he's behind bars now."
"I know isn't it great? I feel so much more relaxed now."
Before the waves hit, Reuben gave me a few tips. Remember lean forward and keep your back straight and you'll be fine."
We had so much fun and Reuben was never far away in case anything happened to me.
"You are doing so well, Mel, a natural from what I can see," Reuben yelled over the roar of the waves.
I smiled even though I could hardly hear him, but from his smile, it looked like a genuine compliment.
After a while, I sat on the beach and sunbathed, watching Reuben take on the massive waves. Some of the time I held my breathe, worried for him. The waves had become so much bigger after I'd finished surfing.
Reuben waved at me every now and then. It was like he knew I was worried for him. When I saw him beckon me back in, the waves had begun to settle, so I went in to meet him. As we came back to the sand I threw my hands up in the air.
"I can't believe we took on some of those monster waves. That was so exciting!" Reuben exclaimed.
"I know, wasn't it?"
"I am happy you are safe with me back on land, some of those waves were killers."
"Oh, Melly, were you worried for me?"
"Stop it! You know I was." He put his arm around me and we walked along the beach.
"Well, I have another surprise for you, since it's only midday, I want to take you to my favourite passtime, but we'll need to go soon before it gets too late."
"Really? You know how I like surprises. So let's go!"
I took him to a fast, flowing river that I often came to for white water rapids.
"Yes! I can't wait!"
"I hope this is something we can do together again. It's all arranged, the safety gear and everything. So are you ready?"
"Oh, yes, let's do this!"
"What a great day, Mel, this last surprise was a doozy, and not something I've done much."
"Well you did it like a pro, Reuben."
It was then he leant over and kissed me.
"Thanks, Mel, we must do this again."
Producer Question 1: Did you find the Bachelor's adventurous side is your type?
"We had such a good time. I think we are both very keen on water sports. Just another thing we have in common. I hope we can do it all again really soon."
Producer Question 2: Did you feel any type of chemistry in this leisure time, connected to Reuben?
"Oh, yes. I get chills every time he put his arm around me or when he kisses me. My whole body tingles. (but don't tell him that). Being such a gentleman, he might be embarassed at my forwardness, but he is used to me saying what I feel now and has accepted that about me, which is very attractive."
