@mastressalita You and I must be sharing the same brain. :) I have it set up where Corey will be missing major big life events and you're absolutely right that Pen will be struggling with taking care of the kiddos alone. While she does have the Garden Club ladies to help, one of them has passed away, another has just gotten pregnant, and the third will be finding true love so Pen doesn't want to burden them by asking for help. I've tossed around the idea of Corey having to move for work but I wasn't sure if that would be okay. Is it believable enough? I love that you picked up on that Pen is loyal to her hometown and even more so now that someone will be coming home... ;)
