If the relationship with the spouse is already strained because he's never around, and now he wants her to leave the town she loves and the friends and family she relies on and start somewhere new, where she'd only have that strained relationship left... Pen has had enough heartache at a very young age in her life, she deserves her happiness! The "d" word doesn't have to be a bad word if it means a happier and healthier home for both her and her children. (For the record, my parents divorced, and though it is of course hard, it ultimately created a much better home environment for me and my sister to grow up in.)
