Hi, Kindness Benchers! I'm reading a book that I want to share with you!
It's about healing from trauma and the ways that trauma changes our brains so that we become "addicted to drama."
The author, Doreen Virtue, and publisher, Hay House, are making the e-book (in PDF, Kindle, and another e-book form) available for free for a short time, in response to how intense things are right now in the world.
For anyone who's experienced trauma (and that's most sensitive people living on this planet at this time), the book offers insights that might be very helpful. I just started reading it on Sunday, and I've already been able to notice a shift in my perspective and brain chemistry--reading this has brought peace and the welcoming of peace to me.
I'm thinking that this book is also probably useful to SimLit writers: so many of us write about characters who, in one way or another, experience some form of trauma, and understanding both what happens to the brain/hormones in response to that and healthy ways to move through it seems to me like it might be really useful for me as a writer.
So, since it's been such a good resource for me, I thought I'd share it with you! You can download your free copy here: http://bit.ly/freesparklebook
