I just hope that there still might be future interested readers when it finally is finished.
I've been thinking about readers, your work, and your impending completion of the work. I imagine if I were to come upon it, not knowing you or the Simming community. I'd be a bit puzzled from not getting all the Sim references--but I don't think that would interfere with my reading of it. I'd be drawn in completely.
In some ways, it reminds me of fiction I used to come across in the late 1960s/early 70s, when I was just a kid, so I missed a lot of the cultural references. But there's something so engaging and attractive about the complete world found in this type of novel and in your fiction that the reader is drawn in and can't get enough of it...
Anyway, I'm guessing that Racket-Rotter will continue to draw readers for a long time. Having it finished will also make readers even more likely to invest their time in reading it, for they'll know they won't be abandoned midway through.
