I'm not going to sit here and be a downer. But I'm glad I found this thread.
Not too long ago I lost a very beloved save in The Sims 4. Think: Legacy Challenge, Windenburg, Generation four or five. It was like magic, because as soon as I decided to go against myself and upload the current house to my Library, I somehow managed to save over the save file and lose everything I had done except the upload I had made.

I'm not a very social person. And I wonder, sometimes, if everything I do is just wasted. I spend a lot of time alone, staring at my friends on a computer screen, building houses and lives and communities... and begin to wonder if it's just all in my head. Mostly, I do stuff myself because I don't use the MOO cheat. Not that I'm against it, just that I have had some very, very bad experiences with it and decided to use no cheats in my game. (Exception: ResetSim, etc)
