Mira has discovered that she's pregnant, and has calculated that it's probably the stranger's baby and not Osvald's. She knows one thing for sure: That it's going to be impossible to live in this apartment with a baby. It's way too dirty and dangerous.

So what will she do now? She doesn't have a lot of money, she can't afford a large apartment or a house.
Her landlord agrees to give her a good deal on one of his other apartments in the building, which is just as small but with a much better standard. It has only one room in addition to a small kitchen and bathroom. But it will have to do, she'll have to find a way to raise her baby here.
