@Writin_Reg, your story reminds me: when we kids complained of being bored, our mother said, "Great, then I'll put you to work!" and she'd give us chores to do. Let me tell you, we quickly figured out something we'd rather be doing than more chores!
I used that same technique in my own childrearing. Worked great!
Y'know, it still works for me. On the rare occasions when I feel bored, I just do chores. Either I figure out something I'd enjoy doing, or I get some needed tasks finished. Win either way!
Nobody in my family stays bored.
Bit odd, that the sims work the opposite way. I reckon the programmers' parents didn't know my Mom's little trick. :wink:
