Time Travel EP Idea

Instead of Into the Future, or a 'Blast into the Past' EP, which are both incredible ideas that the community have been sharing awesome ideas of what we would all love to see in those types of pack ideas, why not fuse both ideas together for Time Traveling? Travel to the past, stay in the present, or blink into the future.

The main theme to Time Travel isn't superheroes, vintage era, apocalypse, new technology, etc.. but combining all these themes around 'choices' our sim makes which determines the past, the current day, and the distant future. Good choices determine a great future free of disease, sickness, politics, etc. or bad choices can lead to the zombie apocalypse or a world overrun by machine and robots. Our sim is given second chances- do you accept your fate as is? If given a second opportunity for a better outcome would you take it? And how would you go about doing these choices differently? One can lead prosperity and abundant rewards, while the other choice can lead to total destruction.

Travel into the past and see the world for what it once was. Become the Founding Family of any in-game world, and live off the land. Set new rules in place, contribute to a growing society, and have a statue built in your honor. A new holiday is even put in your honor- Founder's Day. If you make bad choices then go down in sim history as the worst founder in sim history.

While in the past dress in Victorian-era clothing, take a horse-drawn buggy into town, own a farmer's market and sell goods to the townspeople. Or be an inventor and invent the lightbulb, discover electricity, find new ways for easier and substantial living. Invent the microwave, the refriderator, a talking box, anything from the present day technologies we have now. Or in the present day do research and concoct a special blend that will give your sim superhuman abilities to either destroy the world or save it. Invent futuristic inventions- hover boards, an immortality potion, flying cars, and servo-bots.

Time Traveling can be very dangerous- your sim can blink into the future 'scrambled', zap into the past as an infant not only rewinding time but rewinding age. Or return to the present zombified or with mechanical body parts.

The choices our sim makes will also determine the shaping of our future worlds- bad choices can lead to a zombie apocalyptic universe or a futuristic world where sims are slaves to the machines that now rule the land. Sims can save the future. Using superhuman abilities, your sim can take back the world from the zombies and the robots, and rebuild society starting from scratch. So the future is now the past, the past is now the present, and the present is the future.

Thanks @james64468 for inspiring me for this idea. I saw your topic on Back to the Past and the ideas starting rolling off the top of my head.

Thank you, rambahadoer. I try to think of things that I generally enjoy in the game, but also what many others also like. Many want superheroes, an inventor career, a rebuild aspect, servo bots, new supernatural-like lifestates, futuristic worlds, etc.. And then there's players who play TS4 differently. You got the builders and those who enjoy telling stories with their sims. So factoring all those in would make for a great expansion- totally different and never been seen before, while combining nostalgic features and never seen before features. Zombie apocalypse is always a futuristic concept, a future world made up of machines and robots are very scifi. I love history so adding some historic concepts for the past like the Gothic Victorian era, perhaps even adding some Steampunk into the mix. Inventing anything from the lightbulb and running water to a microwave, then inventing hoverboards and robots; mechanical body parts to immortality and superpower potions- it just seems like all of it would fit greatly with a Past, Present & Future centric expansion pack.
