Days 26, 27, & 28 - Year 1306 - Twelfth Night

After Christmas Kimberly began her apprenticeship. Kimberly dropped Emma off with Caitlin and headed to Finchwick.
There was a small stage set up in the Tavern. Kimberly met Hilda, the bardess she was to work with. She was very friendly, and very talented. Kimberly listened to her sing. She thought she could definitely learn a lot form her.

Mostly her job at the moment though was to repair any broken strings on the lutes. She didn't mind though; it gave her an opportunity to practice.

Of course, Sara said that she could also sing on the stage whenever she wanted to.

Back at home, Kimberly used the money from Father Winter to make some upgrades to the farm and house. She was able to buy some nice furniture, including a desk to write songs and poetry, and some things for Emma.

One day, while Kimberly was singing at the tavern, Richard came by and watched her. Then he pulled out a bowed instrument and joined her! She had no idea he could play!

She enjoyed singing at the tavern. She met lots of people and she made some tips; though there was the occasional rowdy patron, but she got to sing folk lore and poems, and most of all, the singing filled her heart with joy.
There was still a piece of it missing though. One day before returning home she went to her and Thomas' spot to sing to the birds.

She sat on the bench and remembered the kiss they had shared the day Thomas had proposed to her.
"I really miss you, Thomas. I'm doing my best."

The next day was Twelfth Night, a time to celebrate the visit of the wise men after Christmas, and also to bring in a new season! It was the last day of winter and Kimberly was finally able to harvest all her winter crops.

Benjamin came by with a gift for Emma!

It was a lovely drawing table. She put her blue sapphire she had gotten for Christmas on it.

They celebrated, and Caitlin even came to visit too. Look at all the chickens. They definitely want in on the fun.

While they were gathered together, a Knight came to the door to inform Kimberly that...some distant relative had left her some money! Could it be another miracle, on Twelfth Night? She couldn't believe it.

And dear little Emma maxed all her toddler skills!

Caitlin was nice enough to do the washing for Kimberly; she must not have enough to do at the Sherwood farm.

Kimberly made a lovely Spinach Tart for their dinner from the spinach she had harvested from the garden.

It was another great holiday and tomorrow would bring a new year and a new season. What will be in store next?

According to Morbid's rules, Twelfth Night is a celebration to remember the visit of the wise men who visited Jesus after his birth. I didn't actually look into this very much, but I made a holiday with some traditions similar to New Years, since that was the holiday that would have been on the calendar at this time.
Also, violins weren't invented until the 1500's so that's why I called Richard's violin a "bowed instrument."
