That doesn't sound quite right.
Certainly, the rate of marriage has reduced, but that's because of a few things: Many couples are waiting longer to get married, they aren't rushing into it. And many people wait until they already own a home before getting married, because a home is more important to them than the piece of paper. A wedding is expensive, so is a house.
Due to marrying later, they're less likely to divorce, thereby reducing the divorce rate.
Weddings in the sims means that people can live out the fantasy of marrying right out of uni, instead of waiting another 10-20 years.
