Wedding Stuff

I hope this is a possible stuff pack still, because we really need it or for it to be included in a romance game pack.

  • More wedding appropriate clothing (bride, groom, family members)
  • Wedding Décor
  • 6 seated banquet table(like the ones from JA, LD, and Backyard stuff)
  • Improved wedding system(base game update would be preferred) (Guests would send the newly weds gifts via mail; Ex: Microwave, plant, coffee maker, ice cream machine, etc.) (More labels; Ex: Father of the Bride, Groomsman, Bridesmaid, etc.)
  • Throw Bouquet Self Interaction (closest sim gets the bouquet)
  • Slow Dancing (aka first dance)

Tell me what you'd also add! :)

  • @redrogue60 this list is comprehensive and amazing. I'm a big fan of the "disasters" list!

I think the only things that I would respectfully add are: boutonniers for the groom/groomsmen to match the bouquets and, eventually, horse-drawn carriages, limousines and old, classic cars for the arrival and getaway. Also, a type of extendable runner (like the one that came in Vintage Glamour Stuff). If possible, the runner would be scripted to function as a type of path for the wedding party to follow in order to get to/from the altar. The head of the runner is where the bride will pause for a moment before starting the walk down the aisle to meet the groom.

@Movotti, that Wedding Haka video was amazing. I love the remembrance of cultural traditions at weddings. It's a powerful thing. I would love to see it incorporated into a Sims game. Possibly, made-up traditions for Sims from different parts of the Sim world? I don't know, I just love the idea of it. <3
  • But weddings don't need to be over $1,000+ expensive. For instance a bride doesn't need to get a White dress they will only ever wear once. Instead they could use (if they can fit into it) a dress from their Prom, or something. Or if they (or a friend/family member) has a skill of sewing they can make a new dress which could be used more then once. Another friend if they have a knowledge of making a flower bouquet could make the flowers for the wedding. If another one is a good cook/baker they could make the reception food. Heck for my religious group (Christianity) we don't even need to be in the church to get married. Since in the Medvial Ages the only people who got married in the church proper was Royalty (and some nobility) the merchants and Peasants had to get married on the steps of the church.

While I sort of agree with most of what you said I just sadly feel vehicles in this iteration of the Sims feel a tad pointless however I would welcome the opportunity to be proven wrong.

I know that TS4 is a closed world, but that doesn't mean that cars wouldn't have a purpose. TS2 was a closed world. The community asked for cars and the devs provided awesome ones.

I had a few ideas to make cars even more relevant in a thread here. Cars could really be fun if players thought of them as more than a means of transportation. IRL, cars have a lot more meaning than that, even if they're never moved out of the drive. LOL. ;)

Choosing bridesmaids and bestmans would be cool too for the wedding.

I’m always surprised when I see threads about weddings.

I saw a statistic not long ago saying more people in America get divorced every year than get married.

This is a game though not real life. In TS4 my sims don't divorce or atleast I haven't made them yet.
  • I also would love for the bride to have her dad walk her down the aisle. Also maybe call guest to sit before proceeding the wedding.
