Future Free Content Update Hopefuls
I've been a supporter of the new series to the franchise before and after the release, even considering the lack of base game content and features. The game has many features I enjoy, some features that they could do without- such as the walk-styles and the emotions which can get quite tiresome after a few hours of game play- and features that I miss that I would eventually like to see be added back into the game through free content updates. And I do support Maxis but I've never been a fan of EA since EA only think about the quantity of money and not the quality of their games, or valued customer service and quality care towards their loyal customers, including me.
And I'm sure we haven't seen the last of free content to be added to the game. There are still so many features lacking that (and I'm not a computer programmer so i don't know how coding and all that works) I'm sure that Maxis can release to give the game a more completed finish overall. And they know most of us are not going to pay extra money for content and features that have a base game feel to it. I'm not selfish so I'm not going to beg and demand for these items and features to be added or the whole "I'm not buying until..." (And not trying to start a fued just addressing my personal opinion on the matter).
They gave us a life-stage in the game if you count being a ghost. That's a life stage after living. So maybe one day in the near future they bring us toddlers in a free game update- still waiting patiently and enjoying my game. I was never a fan of toddlers just become they were the most stressful and annoying life-stage to play and take care of, but I think about all the other dedicated and loyal fans of the franchise and also understand their stance on the issue. It doesn't feel complete without that lifestage. And i'm pretty sure it's not easy coding and routing that particular life stage so I wait patiently since all things, and great things, take time to better enhance any product.
The objects that I miss that don't make my homes feel complete are items like the garbage compactor, the dishwasher, the burglar alarm and laptops. Which I could see perhaps them adding burglars into an expansion pack or game pack although it should be a base game NPC with base game features. And laptops could come back in a future stuff pack. But I would really like to see our garbage compactors, dishwashers, and even a mixer/blender make a return in a future free content update. My kitchens just don't feel complete and look horribly odd without those finishing touches- it's probably another reason I hate designing kitchens for my sims now. Also, another item that could be brought back are the landline phones. I personally hate cell phones unless its for emergencies- and my young ones (my children who are 8, 7 and 6 years old are obsessed with the idea of getting one which they will not until their teenagers). I prefer landline though so I wouldn't mind having a landline phone in my game (maybe even give the landline a small feature like cordless, caller ID and voice mail).
New build-mode tools and items such as- spiral roofs so we can finally make realistic-looking Victorian/Goth homes or a new roof-formatting tool where we could just draw around the edges of the top of our rooms and it would place the roof on it following the design with edged- if that makes sense? Also, I personally think that windows- all windows- in the game should have a shutter option. There's some windows I love but hate the fact it comes with shutters, vice versus. Which I'm sure we won't ever see a free content update with the option to add or remove shutters- just a thought- but I think they could add new roof types as a free content update. Along with a basement build tool. We can finally build more eye-satisfying swimming pools above ground and underground. So we all know they could definitely add basements into the game. Having my gym, billiard and bar, and home theater on the first floor is not appealing- much rather have those types of rooms in homes with basements. And one other thing to go along with build options: a feature- the ability to lock doors and set bedroom occupant that way our Sims will go to their designated bedroom rather than Little Timmy sleeping in his parents bed while his mom and dad sleep in the kid's bed.
