Not entirely sure if this has been mentioned nor how I’m going to put this thought into written words.. but here goes nothing LOL.
It would be cool and very '2015' for the sims to be able to just grow.
Example: When sims have a new born baby, make this baby look new born. Let it grow and get bigger in a couple of sim days on it's own without any magical birthday cake/jumping into a child right away. Have it so the baby learns how to crawl (by putting it on some kinda play mat), have it learn how to sit up. Have an option for older sims to try encourage it (laying it down on it's belly could be an option). Have this baby grow into a toddler, getting bigger every few days (again without a magical birthday cake or jumping into a bigger sim).
Have sims hit puberty, boys having growth spirts, breaking voices. I understand that some things would probably be ok left out, like obviously females getting that time of the month.. TMI. BUT having a growth rather than bursting into a new life stage would make the sims 4 unique opposed to older sims games (1,2&3) with the set life stages.
Maybe this idea is too complex but if they managed to nail it so players were like "hey, my sims kid has gotten taller overnight", it would be very impressive to say the least.
