There, all caught up! Man, I dislike Seth with a passion. It seems to be a theme in Simlit – so far I’ve read about three characters named Seth, and I ended up disliking all three of them ? it must be in the name. He’s such a slimy, sleazy character. Villainy major suits him well (also, I have to laugh at the game for including a university course on becoming a villain? Oh, the sims.)
Hahaha, I can imagine that Agnes appearing on-scene did nothing to improve the odds of bettering a romantic relationship ? sounds like you and Z are slowly figuring out how MCC works! Good luck working out the details and making the world how you want it to be!
@_sims_Yimi Hi! Seth's obnoxious, mean nature has become apparent to all who have met him. He's almost entirely the game's creation, too. The mustache and Eyeball Ring were his from the start. He spawned with the Foxbury shorts as his Active outfit, but the game pulled him from our tray to study at Britechester instead. His awful set of traits came about because the game selected Mean, Self-Absorbed, and Hot-Headed for him. Then, we couldn't resist giving him a Villainous Valentine Aspiration.
I laughed at the Villainy major, too. The idea of highly regarded universities preparing students for lives of crime and mayhem is, as you put it, pure Sims. The game picked Villainy as Seth's major, and for him, it makes perfect sense...but we have a very sweet NPC in our "Learning University" save who also spawned as a Villainy major! It doesn't fit her at all, and as far as I know, we can't use MCCC to change her major to something more suitable for her.
The only completely "contrived" scene in Seth's chapter was his snatching Wren's phone away and leering at the picture Halle Ross sent her. Once we came up with the idea , we shot a scene with Seth on his phone, and we had Halle send Wren a selfie. The two girls had recently become Good Friends, so Halle was an ideal choice for the scene.
When we saw the UBrite statue had been pranked, Z and I decided to make Seth an accessory to the "crime." We've since learned that prank is often a required task for a Spirit Club member, so it's actually a common, mundane occurrence. Another version of Cameron, as good a guy as the original, has done it no fewer than four times already.
At first, Z and I both shied away from sending Sims all over the world. We had a geography in mind for the Simiverse, which placed worlds like Britechester, Windenburg, and Henford-on-Bagley close together, but far away from Willow Creek, Newcrest, and Brindleton Bay. Then, we noticed how some Sims can pop up literally anywhere, and decided to give our Sims the same freedom.
We have a mod that limits the wanderings of NPCs to their home worlds, except for visits to some kinds of gathering places. We discovered that swimming pools are on the "can visit" list when Agnes rolled into Newcrest, police purse in hand. "She didn't even put on her swimsuit!" exclaimed an indignant Z.
As for learning MCCC, we're picking it up slowly, but surely. Gosh, there is a lot there! Thank you to everyone for your patience while we learn. This is what happens when you start writing Simlit only a few months after you start playing The Sims 4. I didn't get the game until June 2021.
