Why is there still no Edit Town/Neighborhood tool in the Sims 4?

That is not to say it wasn't possible. When ask about it years ago why we still do not have the tool while it was possible to make it, SimGuruGrant said that it might not pay off the hard work unlike say toddlers, pools, etc. because only a small portion of players would only create worlds for the game......

On the bright side they did say that they are now spending more time with content updates than ever.....but yeah.....Wish we have it back.

Yeah. Create a world (CAW) for the Sims 3 was a separate application. I used it a fair amount. It was rough. I'm actually not that interested in CAW for the Sims 4 at this point, just an Edit Town Tool. I'm also only somewhat interested in custom lot placement, as I doubt it will be added considering it would require two new systems: One to place lots in the actual neighborhood and a second to place the lot display square on the "world" map.

All I'm really pushing for at this point is the ability to control world decor. That is a streamlined and straightforward thing and there is no reason the game framework shouldn't be able to support that.

And yeah. At the end of the day, they could build edit town. Easily the game could handle it. It's just a matter of priorities. Sadly the focus from EA continues to be profit about product, not a balance of the two.

That being said, I still have a gut feeling Edit Town could make an appearance. The fact they released all of the world decor objects for players to use via the bb.ShowLiveEditObjects category back in a 2018 base game update gave me hope that they may be slowly working on an Edit Town feature. Prior to that, the majority of those objects were not accessible.
