The photography skill is now a BG skill but there's still so many opportunities missed when it comes to photos. Now it's a BG feature I believe a photography update would be appreciated. Ideas like New aspiration - Picture perfect Focusing on increasing photo quality and taken pictures of special BG features. Rewards could include special frames, higher quality/valued photos- Take photos- Take emotional photo(s)- Capture the hidden Glade - Capture the abandoned Mine - Sell a high valued photo - take scenery pictures New freelancer career - PhotographerSimilar to above it would focus in taking certain pictures, pictures of clients (townies), editing photos, study references. (Building on a stereotype but just general ideas)New clothing - hipster styleBaggy clothing, beanies, glasse etc a similar amount as the previous freelancer careers New objects - The return of the sims mobile family portrait that was available for a short time last year.- A modern/simpler version of the above frame- A digital picture frame (cycled through photos you've stored in its inventory)- Those functional picture frames you see in Strangerville (someone's made an excellent mod for it but it should be added)- A photo album, a place to store photos- a "schmapple" laptop (their own apple parody brand, a sleek laptop with simish version of the Apple logo say a llama or plumbob)New gameplay - New poses (family, romantic, funny, group of more than 2)- editing photos (just another pc menu option, hence the hipster themed laptop)- ask for specific pose (higher photography skill)Would you like to see such an update in the game, or have any more ideas for it?

I'd love family portraits like we've had in past games - so yes we really need a way to take a family portrait. We know they can seeing they used one to get simmers to try the Sims 4 Mobile - even though a lot of us did not bite. I am not a mobile player so I did not try it and think they should just use the method they tried to bribe us with to let us take a picture of our Legacies families etc. So yes - at least add legit family portraits to photography.

Yes, yes, yes! Photography is my number one hobby in real life and I spend like half my gaming experience in the sims capturing screenshots. I think they did an amazing job with the rendering of the light, the way the sun travels during the day, the shadows... It really screams for a better photography skill and Carrer for our sims. I wish it to be a freelancer Carrer where you'd get challenges for taking all kind of photos, from portraits, group photos to landscape and so on.

I've said before that they really missed the boat on not expanding on the whole photography thing... so much so that I wrote a little mod to make it pay a little better when selling photos (it's called 'Viable Photography' and available at Mod The Sims - shameless plug).

To be honest, I'd rather get some new hobbies than another photography update. I feel like it's already a pretty decent skill. But ultimately I'm indifferent.

I like your idea ! I wouldn't mind new poses because they're always the same, even selfies. We could have a menu like we have for pumpkin carving, we can carve different kinds of pumpkins/patterns, well why not have that for selfies ? Like "funny selfie"; "serious selfie" etcI'd also like "photographer" as a freelance career. One of the gigs could be taking portrait pictures for other sims (families or single sims). Our sims could have the option somewhere to "get a family portrait" or something. A Photo Booth in vacation worlds could be nice to have too. Also I kinda liked the memories album in TS3.

They added the portrait in the pc version for a limited time, it basically added their gallery portrait to the frame, but they removed the ability to claim it after. It's the closest we've got to actual family portraits and I wish i could have it

See my personal hope is that they release a version of the sims 2 freetime, a pack dedicated to activities and skills (I've detailed one extensively here https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/959432/what-does-everyone-hope-we-get-in-the-sims-4/p1 )
And that they focus patches on making shallow BG better (aspirations for patched careers, more freelance careers like angler, carpenter, home caterer, photographer, baby upgrade, upgraded ghosts, upgraded plantsims etc)
But I get wanting more new instead of the same of what we have.

I rarely use it, and honestly outside of just noodling around with my sim I can't think of the point in spending time and money that could go to new gameplay to overhaul such a minor thing.

I agree with this, I really love the way the light changes throughout the day. That evening sunset glow makes my sims POP!
