Tomsde you can add the Satellite Dish in Build Mode from the debug menu if you have Get to Work. That saves having to be a scientist to create one. You could also place one in a room and save it to your library, then place the room on any lot to get the satellite dish. I see you're on the bug report for the excessive alien abductions too, I was just about to link it for you but you're on it already. There's a few votes for it so perhaps it will be addressed/tuned at some point.
If you are new to debug it's bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects in the cheat bar. I've had a look for a guide for you too, found a Sims Community one here incase you need a bit more info:
