Do earthquakes ever actually cause any damages or deaths?

I know the Sims is limited in how much actually mayhem can occur and keep its rating but I noticed in the neighborhood which is loosely based on San Francisco ,  called San Sequoia in game,  there are tremors and earthquakes from time to time.  Yet,  nothing really bad happens.  No fires or gas leaks or sims trapped under rubble.  Which is strange because there was a pack where you did have these kinds of things happening.   Now that I think about it that was in Sims 3 wasn't it with the firefighter career and not Sims 4.  Well,  they should have considered adding that in the pack.  I am blanking on the pack that San Sequoia was in,  maybe it was "Growing Together".  My sims get scared but that is about all that happens when a quake comes.
