Ideas to Make the Sims 4 Marketplace Better

I've been spending a lot of time on the Sims 4 Marketplace lately, and while I love the idea of supporting creators directly, there are still quite a few things that could make the experience smoother, more appealing, and actually worth our time. Here's my revised list — let me know what you think!

  1. Move Moola purchases closer to the top in the EA app
Right now, you just have to scroll down to find the Moola purchase section. That's still a friction point. Put it higher up on the page so it's immediately visible when you open the store tab. Out of sight = out of mind.
  2. Add a dedicated "Maker Packs" section in the EA app
Kits have their own tab. Maker Packs should too. Give us a clean grid of all available Maker Packs, and let us click on each one to go directly to its Marketplace page. No more searching.
  3. The "Go to Marketplace" button should launch the web version
There is already a web version of the Marketplace. When you click the "Go to Marketplace" button in the EA app, it currently tells you to launch the game instead. That's pointless. It should just open the web Marketplace in your default browser so you can browse and buy immediately without booting up the game.
  4. Introduce more packs like the Plant Shop pack — but focused on quality and variety
Maker Packs aren't meant to be stuff packs with gameplay. They're the modern version of the old creator kits that competes with high-quality CC. The Little Plant & Garden Shop pack was great value with 50 objects, but we need more packs that offer:
  • High-quality, polished items
  • More than just clutter — functional objects, build mode staples, and CAS items
  • Variety that actually fills gaps (not just another set of deco plants)

The point is value for money: good item counts, versatile pieces, and quality that rivals the best CC out there.

  1. Add in-world kits available only on the Marketplace with new worlds
    New worlds should come with:
  • No empty lots — give us fully decorated, ready-to-play lots
  • Different third spaces beyond the bar or lounge
    • libraries
    • parks
    • wedding venues
    • museums
    • gyms
  • Rich lore and backstory
  • Hidden lots
  • Around 50 new build/buy objects tied to the theme

Let's get a Korean-inspired world with think bustling Seoul streets, cozy pocha alleys, food stalls, a convenience store lot, and rooftop gardens. I wouldn't pay more than a stuff pack price for this ($10), but with 50 objects and a full world, that feels fair.

  1. Release Marketplace kits that fill content gaps
    We still desperately need:
  • More boys' formalwear
  • More toddler and infant clothing
    • pajamas
    • shoes
    • everyday wear
  • Community lot object sets
    • bars,
    • wedding venues,
    • museums
    • libraries
    • parks
  • More ethnic hairstyles and traditional cultural clothing across all age groups

These are things EA keeps overlooking, and the Marketplace would be the perfect place to fill those gaps.

  1. Encourage more creators to make content on Maker Packs
Right now, almost no one is reviewing these packs, and the few who do tend to hate on them automatically. That makes it really hard to decide what's worth buying. EA should send early access copies to a wider variety of creators. Also, feature community-made builds or styled looks on the Marketplace homepage to inspire buyers and show off what the packs can actually do.
  2. Release themed drops with multiple creators per week
The current system drops 5 Maker Packs per week. Instead of random assortments, group them by a shared theme or aesthetic. For example:
  • Y2K Week: one creator does a bedroom set, another does a kitchen set, another does a restaurant, another does clothing, another does makeup/accessories
  • Cottagecore WeekK-Pop WeekIndustrial WeekEco-Friendly Week, etc.

That way, players can buy multiple packs that actually go together, and it feels like a cohesive collection rather than a lucky dip. Also, the pack should pair well with existing gameplay content.

  1. Improve the pack imagery
Some Maker Pack thumbnails and promo images look unpolished compared to official EA kit photos. Better lighting, cleaner staging, and more consistent angles would make a huge difference. Good visuals sell — especially when we're scrolling through dozens of packs.
  2. Run weekly build challenges featuring Maker Packs
Get the community involved! For example:
  • "Build your dream flower shop using the Plant Shop Pack"
  • "Create a K-Pop star's apartment using this week's theme"

Players can upload their builds to the Gallery, and winners could get featured on the Marketplace homepage or earn some free Moola. It drives engagement, shows off what the packs can do, and gives buyers inspiration.

  • The only thing that would make the marketplace better is if the did not require yiu tivbuy moola to purchase things. I refuse to support buying fake currency with real-world money just to purchase digital items.

I know the marketplace allows console players to support makers who may make CC for PC players. It just is counterproductive to require a player to buy virtual currency. Btw, makers only recieve 30 cents off every dollar.
