Marketplace Download Data stored in hidden folder location
The Maker Pack/Kits purchased after March 2026 downloads are unexpectedly stored in the following hidden directories: Windows: User > [Username] > AppData > Local > TS4 Mac: Macintosh HD > Users > [Username] > Library > Application Support > TS4 This has several downsides as you can't move or redirect this folder, they are hidden system folders. The biggest issue with this is being stored solely on the internal drive, you can't put them on an external drive if running low on internal storage. and you also can't redirect it to a bigger internal drive. This can lead to issues when these drives are full. The expectation is Maker Packs are installed in the same location as the game and DLC, as directed in EA App, so the user can make sure they have the installation files in the same location where there is enough space. By default the game installation location is for both base game and The Sims 4 pack folders: Windows: C:\Program Files\EA Games Mac: Macintosh HD > Applications > EA Games There is an indication on the GUI that lets you know who much space you have left but that isn't that easy to find and you won't see it if you never go to My Collection > Maker Packs > Manage Storage768Views31likes13CommentsThe sims maker program application portal
Hi, I’m posting here because I’ve run into a pretty frustrating situation with the Sims Maker Program, and I’m not sure how to proceed. I applied and got rejected with : What i need to correct And "In the meantime, your current application has been closed, and you are welcome to re-apply with a new submission addressing these issues. " I reviewed everything & corrected my files (mainly naming things), and tried to resubmit. Except… I can’t. The portal gives me an “invalid action” error when I try to resubmit my corrected files, even though the rejection email explicitly tells me to do so. I contacted EA Help, and they confirmed: this is a known technical issue it’s preventing rejected applicants from resubmitting there is no direct support channel for the Maker Program (email, Discord, forum...) They also mentioned that the program is essentially invite-only after the initial gate, which makes the lack of support even more confusing. Guys, your documentation is way different that what we are used to (file format, maps colors, vertex colors, etc) and so succinct and you want us to pass your test with 2 conform CCs in ONE try ????? Feedback: Poor Image Quality in Marketplace Interface Elements
I’m making this post to bring the developers’ attention to the image quality of the Marketplace interface elements. At the moment, the quality appears quite poor, with many elements in the store displaying low resolution, while a few others look noticeably sharper. This creates a clear visual inconsistency across the interface I’d like to start with the bar that displays the available amount of Moola. The edges appear very blurry and poorly defined, and the ‘+’ button also looks noticeably low resolution.” The filter buttons also appear noticeably blurry and low resolution, particularly around their edges. This is visible both when the mouse is hovering over them and when it is not. The text below the large pack-type icons also appears blurry, which becomes even more noticeable when hovering the mouse over them. The icon representing the Makers Packs appears in very poor quality on the pack information pages. The resolution looks extremely low. The object thumbnails in the game also appear quite blurry, likely because they are being upscaled. This gives the images a noticeably degraded and unclear appearance. The back button also appears to be in low resolution. The smaller version of the Moola bar shown in other areas of the store also has a noticeably low-resolution appearance. The purchase button also shows low-resolution edges. ----------- Well, this concludes my feedback regarding the Marketplace. My intention in pointing out these issues is simply to help improve the visual quality of the interface and make it more polished and appealing. In my view, the interface shouldn’t contain images and buttons that appear in such low resolution.247Views8likes16CommentsLet us Earn Some Moola in the game.
People might be feel better about Moola if they can earn some as rewards in regular game events and as a rare reward from time capsules when we mine for crystals. I know some will see it as further marketing enticement and manipulation, but it might bring more engagement to events and searching the neighborhood for crystals and other collectables. What do you want to see on the marketplace?
Now admittingly I do have mixed feelings about the marketplace but I am a console player. And I do not have acess to mods like I do on the PC. So if I see something that I really want I will be getting it. Now I am aware of the restrictions of everything being base game applicable, but all things considered these aren't restricted to their packs and should be fully usable on base game sims. CAS Antennae- this could be under the hat category or the new head decoration category. It should be available for sims infant and up and have diffrent shapes, lengths designs and colors. This would be good for a quirky sim as some sort of headband hidden under hair, and if you have get to work it is PERFECT for alien sims, or really any fantasy sim you want to add Horns and antlers- once again perfect for the head decoration category, you could easily give these to your base game sims to add a bit of spice. Or fancy up the plant sims to make them more nature themed. Or it could be for a kids Halloween costume. They would also go great with the enchanted by nature and get to work pack Tails- maybe your child's a furry maybe theyre a werewolf growing into themselves. Honestly I hate that werewolves are tailess, it looks sad and depressing and EA should have at least GIVEN us the option of a tail. Unique ears- fantasy ears are fun what can I say. Having unique non human ears for diffrent animals or diffrent types of elf ears instead of the pointy ones would be pretty cool. I know the furry sims players out there would appreciate Infant clothing- as the newest life stage infants are still very lacking in some outfits. Id love to see more styles for each category of outfit for the infants as well as new hairs Better lashes- the Sims 4 lashes are very....blocky, there are so many cute maxis match lashes that look adorable while keeping the more cartoons style,id love a little inexpensive set with some diffrent styles and diffrent colors More male hairs- our boys have been neglected in the hair department and there are many gorgeous male cc hairs out there Heterocromia- some sort of scar or skin overlay that allows for your sim to have heterochromia More eye colors- hopefully some of those really beautiful eye cc start coming in, it would be amazing to see on some of these sims Sin overlays- there are some stunning skin overlays that really bring life to a sim and make them so beautiful. It'd be lovely to see Although jewlery- more out there alt jewlery. Cool face piercings, or even stuff like belly piercings would be cool to see More hats- the hats we have in game are kind of lacking. Id love to see more alternative or styled hats that fit diffrent genres of clothing Alt hair- more alternative hair styles like wolfcuts, scene hairs, dyed hairs, funky styles, Mohawk, rocker styles ect. More black hairstlyes- black hairstyles, especially woman's are gorgeous and id love to see more of the amazing unique styles Male clothing- we need better lame clothing my goodness, diffrent styles and genres please we are LACKING BB more pop culture posters- like posters of popular famous sims, in-game shows, maybe alien themed posters or fantasy poster More clutter and decorations for each room, I want the house to feel lived in Uhhhhhhhhh Im not really big on bb ngl So yeah thats my list im curious what others would be willing to buy from the marketplace if it was added. The first few id 100% buy no questions asked235Views0likes9CommentsImproving the Marketplace: Using Moola as a Budgeting Tool for All Packs
Hi Sims Team, With the recent launch of the Marketplace, I’d like to suggest expanding the use of Moola to include all DLC—Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs. At the moment, the system feels a bit fragmented. Moola can be used for Kits, but Expansions require real-world currency. Offering both payment options for all content could create a more consistent and flexible experience. For many players—especially those who are neurodivergent (such as ADHD) or managing a strict budget—the upfront cost of Expansion Packs can be a barrier. A more flexible system would make it easier to plan and save over time. My proposal: Steam-Wallet-Style System: Allow players to purchase small amounts of Moola whenever they have extra funds, effectively “banking” it for future Sims purchases. This would function similarly to a digital wallet and still supports ongoing revenue. Visual Progress Tracking: Seeing a growing Moola balance in-game can be motivating, particularly for players who benefit from visible progress toward a goal. Price Parity: Ensure that purchasing content with Moola in smaller increments doesn’t cost more overall than paying upfront. This could be balanced with pricing adjustments or a small incentive for Moola users. This approach would transform the Marketplace into a helpful budgeting tool rather than just another storefront, making the game more accessible while still aligning with your business goals. Thank you for your time and consideration.NocturnalSyren3 days agoNew Scout142Views1like8CommentsMoola prices
Hi, For example in the case if a kit cost 500 Moola Overpriced level $2.49 USD for 200 Moola : Paid 3 times = $7.47 spent to get a $4.99 kit + 100 Moola left (50% more expensive) Standard level $4.99 USD for 500 Moola : $4.99 kit $9.99 USD for 1,000 Moola : $9.99 Stuff Pack (but $0.01 wasted if you take 2 kits) Discount level $24.99 USD for 2,600 Moola : 5 kits + 100 Moola left. Paid 5 times = 25 kits + 1 kit (for free) (4% off, $5 discount for $125 spent) $49.99 USD for 5,500 Moola : 11 kits for the price of 10 (9% off, $5 discount for $50 spent) TS3 Store had (for example Hidden Springs world is at 2000 SimPoints) : $10 for 1000 SimPoints : literally $10 of content $20 for 2040 SimPoints $40 for 5000 SimPoints : $50 (20% off, $10 discount) $80 for 10600 SimPoints : $106 (25% off, $26 discount) $160 for 24360 SimPoints : $244 (34% off, $84 discount) Right now Moola feels more expensive than SimPoints in particular if the content cost 1000 Moola.NoahLGP4 days agoSeasoned Ace1.5KViews23likes39Comments- GreenOak13575 days agoSeasoned Vanguard198Views1like3Comments
Maker Reimbursement
Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this in, but I was wondering how much revenue a maker is making off of their packs? Does anyone know what the percentage is? I tried looking it up, but I can't quite find it anywhere and thought I'd ask on here. Thanks!Solveddragon_emma2456 days agoNewcomer95Views0likes1CommentDo you think they will make old LE items available to buy?
It is brought up every once in a while (on the Sims 4 forums) having a second chance on old pack Limited Edition items, even if it was at the cost of purchasing. I admit I do want some, that I wasn't around for, either before I started playing, or if I was on a break. Do you think they will take the hint, and make these available to buy?HollownessDevour6 days agoSeasoned Ace269Views2likes8Comments- 734Views6likes9Comments
Should I buy Kits right now before Marketplace?
Now I'm curious, will the Kit's price be higher when bought with Moola on Marketplace? I saw a lot of people saying they want to buy the kits before the Marketplace launch. One of the reasons is that they don't want to support this kind of selling system. But some also said that the exchange rate is not okay either (not sure about this, I may misunderstand). When it was TS3's store, I bought many points in the early days. It's quite expensive, that make me feel guilty about buying too much. However, after a few months, I can farm the points by watching many ads and do not need to spend anymore, then I complete all possible items except the worlds (not included in the discount combination). But what will TS4's Marketplace be? Will it have any chance to get free Moola in the future? But right now, from the FAQ, no sign of getting free Moola. You have to buy it with real money. ---- I'm unsure what I should do. I have a wishlist of Kits I want to gradually buy because I don't want to spend over my quota for each period of time. Having 3 EPs per year recently has made me broke already. And I don't even have time to play them deeply. Now, the decision of moving Kits from the normal store is like another FOMO that pressures me. So, should I buy what I want right now for a better price? Or is it not much different to buy it under the Marketplace ecosystem?coloncocon7 days agoSeasoned Ace403Views2likes9CommentsRevenue Split
Hi, The Revenue split is often mentioned in the discussions but everybody tends to forget about the rest of the world. Roblox Marketplace : 30% Steam Workshop : 25% Minecraft Marketplace : 35% Unreal Editor for Fortnite : 40% So TS4 Marketplace with 30% is not surprising, EA follow the rule. The 70/30 split (where the platform keeps 70% and the creator gets 30%) is actually quite common in the world of "User-Generated Content" (UGC) within games, though it is the exact opposite of the standard 30/70 split seen in app stores like Apple or Google.NoahLGP7 days agoSeasoned Ace327Views5likes5CommentsShould this really be considered custom content ?
A lot of people are debating about free cc or monetization. What the creators are doing is making content to Ea for purchase. That's the same thing they did with Creator kits. The only difference is that creators can decide how many items or how much each set will cost now. Also that were using a virtual currency instead of cash. So should this really be consider custom content? If they are using official tools and working with Ea to make this ?Horrorgirl69 days agoSeasoned Ace573Views3likes15Comments[Concern] If there is a Maker Version there will never be a Maxis Version.
As someone who will most likely buy from the Marketplace for Maxis/Official content if it works with my theme/game playstyle, and who also will not buy Maker Content. I am concerned that if there is a "Maker" Version of something or something similar, it won't be considered being made at an EP level. Similar to why so many easy fixes are skipped by devs as there are existing mods for that. Let's say more niche, but often asked for EP/Packs themes are being asked for such as Era/Fantasy/etc. but some "Makers" have some content out for that. But because they are not official (just officially approved), and not with features/gameplay—just will not be the same as a official content, and an EP/Pack. And in turn much feedback for new content will be brushed off. Is anyone else concerned about that?HollownessDevour11 days agoSeasoned Ace215Views2likes5CommentsSim4 Marketplace
Hi there was wondering if anyone else noticed that the Sims 4 market could feel like the Sims 3 marketplace? Would love it if there were the option to create your own worlds. Hopefully am not the only one who is trying to see the bright side that the marketplace might bring. Anyone else hopeful for this update? Thanks, let me know what you guys think/hope the market bringsMacronicy12 days agoSeasoned Rookie271Views2likes5Comments
