Life & Death Wishes

This pack is the best that Maxis has produced in years; however, there are some things missing. I know that what I cover isn't everything everybody wants but I was disappointed not to find some dark color patches for bushes, trees flower and even new plants. I went looking for black, dark purple, dark red roses & dead plants & bushes that could be used to decorate a lot. I see that apparently there are some in debug but I'm not really into hunting through debug for those. I also would like to see color swatches across more build & buy options towards the dark purple, black and dark red. I was also disappointed my sim couldn't paint horror paintings and I'd still like it if they could paint fear paintings. Fear paintings would be what the sim feared such as a broken heart for fear of loosing their spouse or a full moon if they feared werewolves or the sun for vampire fears, ect.

The pet cemetery was ignored. My sim traveled to Brindleton Bay to check it out but most of the gravestones can't be clicked on to mourn, read the epitaph or leave flowers. Nor have I seen gravestones specifically designed for pets.

Why is it that the death frog has no value? If it is a rare item I would think it would be worth something.

I do appreciate that the clothing items weren't skimpy so my sims don't have to freeze when wearing them. There is a time & place for skimpy & lately we have had more skimpy than everyday wear.

I know there are other things that are missing from the pack but I can't think of them right at this moment. I am just so thankful that this pack wasn't broken right out of the gate like For Rent & Love Struck. I still can't get For Rent to work properly though Love Struck is better than it was. So, yes I would love to see them fixed.

Thanks for an awesome pack.

An addition I'd really, really like to see is some sort of consideration for immortal sims. After a certain point, there is just constant death. NPC sims dying off left and right. Like 7 or more a day. This used to basically mean your sim was in constant mourning, but mourning could easily be ignored. Now, besides constant mourning we're also stuck in a constant state of grief. The instant one grief trait goes away, another one pops up to take its place. There needs to be a point, say 50 - 100 deaths, and after that point your immortal sim gets a trait like "numb to death," that stops them from needing to mourn or grieve over every sims death... and maybe stop phone calls as the incessant phone ringing off the hook when you know it's just going to be another death pop up gets old fast.  I was really hoping the "Grims' Right Hand" trait would mitigate the grief trait but it hasn't done a thing.

Another option would be just to make it so we could actually mark sims we care about and would grieve over. I mean, just because my sim easily made friends with some rando while drinking at a bar doesn't mean that I as the player actually cared about that sim or even noticed what their name was.

Fear painting sounds awesome. I hope they put that into the game at some point.

I would have liked to see some travel related interactions with graveyards such as ability to do rubbings on a headstone or special interactions with celebrity bural sites.

Overall the theme of this pack doesn't really fit my play style but I've enjoyed it anyways. I turned the ghost world into my own sort of Halloween town so that's fun.

  • This is one of the best EPs they have released.
However, I want to see proper seasons in the world, as that's something we were promised when buying seasons.

And don't give me an excuse that it's not doable or anything as I've seen some mods that already managed to mostly do it.
