Let's talk about Wants & Fears in the Sims 4. It's notably different from what we enjoyed in the Sims 2 in which wants and fears were directly tied to the sim's high-level aspiration (fortune, romance, popularity, etc.) as well as personality.
In the Sims 4, I'm noting I'm getting a lot of small *snip* -like want rolls that are minor and not like the major high-scoring want rolls I got in the Sims 2. I also think Fears in the Sims 4 are very strange in that they "develop" over time and act more like a trait than an actual fear that becomes realized when triggered.
Wants & Fears in the Sims 4 also seem illogical...Fears of Dead End Jobs when your sim is in their dream career related to their aspiration and just got promoted is one example. Another is erratic wants such as the want to be disliked by a sim immediately followed by a want to be friends with the same sim.
Additionally, no aspiration meter means that the impact of completing or failing to complete Wants & Fears is not felt that much. What do you guys think?
@testaccount7890 So my thread, by a moderator, got collapsed into this one "*snip*." For the record, I don't want the *snip* system back either. My post was about the wants & fears system which I also do not like and think it was poorly implemented and is illogical. I want a return to the Sims 2 Wants & Fears sytem w/ Aspiration meter, The Blueprint. Follow The Blueprint developers...it's right there in front of you! No need to experiment with new implementations of old, beloved features.
