Re: Suggestion: Sims 4 Add Preteens

I really LOVE the Sims 4, almost addicted, haha! But what I think is a shame is that when a sim is born, he/she is a newborn, then a baby, then a toddler, then a child, and at once he/she is an almost adult teenager. that's actually very unrealistic... It would be more realistic (and even more fun!) if there were pre-teens! With their own moods, innocent romance, puberty, school parties and more! It would not only make the game-play more realistic, but also more fun and varied! I often see other simmers come by with the same arguments. Introducing a Pre-Teen life stage might be doable in The Sims 4. The height of a Pre-Teen Sim could match the height of a Child Sim standing on a stool, such as when performing the "Cook Together" activity. Therefore animations like this could already exist in the game.

When I see Teen Sims, they represent ages 16 to 19 years-old, due to their height, clothes and abilities.

Child Sims represent ages 4 to 9.

Pre-Teen Sims could represent ages 10 to 15 = Middle School / Junior High ages.

I think the preteens would be 9-13 years old, teens 14-17 and children 4-8. Because there can be some childish 8 year olds and the next day they can be moody 9 yr olds, for 13 is because they arent in high school yet, unlike 14 year olds. For the 9-10 year olds of the stage, they can make a 4-8th grade middle school/jr high. Or a intermediate school before older preteen years (11-13)

Honestly, after the addition of infants, the thought of yet another life stage younger than teen makes me tired, lol.

I've always seen the fundamental problem as being the fact that teens look too much like YAs and have the same skills and gameplay as YAs. If they had made teens shorter and more baby-faced than YAs, and if they had given them some unique gameplay and skill-building parameters, we wouldn't need to ask for yet another youth life stage that feels less like the adult life stages. But you know they're not going to go back and overhaul teens now. And I think we're stuck with the youth life stages we have now; they're not going to add another.

IMO the biggest leap between life stages remaining now is between adult and elder. Adults look like they go from being 40 to being 80; it's ridiculous. They missed the opportunity to add a true middle-age life stage with Growing Together. Instead, they gave mid-life crises to sims who are apparently still young enough to have babies. So silly. Setting aside the fact that I'm not buying any more packs because of lack of QA, chronic bug issues and the in-game shopping cart, the longer I go without buying Growing Together, the less I think I need it. I feel like it would just add a lot of illogical mess to my game due to weird or lazy decisions like that one.
