Re: The Sims™ 4 Music Expansion Pack

Before I start, I am a human - I just used an A.I. to help me write this pitch, however I had this thought that we still couldn't do a whole lot with music in the sims 4 and I had to create a pitch for this. So here is what the A.I. tool helped me come up with. Sorry if it sounds robotic. I would have done it myself but I'm tired.

The community has been waiting years for a true musical expansion pack. I would love to pitch a comprehensive concept for an expansion pack called The Sims 4: Get Loud! that revitalizes the music system by introducing fully functional bands, deep songwriting and recording studio mechanics, a massive expansion to the instrument catalog, and an urban world built entirely around music culture.

Here is how the expansion would break down:

1. New World: Melody Crest

Melody Crest is a multi-district city designed around live venues, historical music roots, and diverse urban lifestyles.

• The Neon District (Downtown Hub): A bustling, high-density metropolitan area packed with Apartment Buildings. Aspiring musicians start here in thin-walled starter flats, dealing with neighbors complaining about late-night practice, before moving up to luxury penthouses.

• The Warehouse Alley (The Underground Scene): A gritty, industrial district of exposed brick and graffiti murals. Converted warehouses serve as DIY Live Music Venues, underground dive bars, and indie recording studios where new bands book their first gigs.

• The Harmony Plaza (The Cultural Center): Home to a grand, historic symphony hall for classical performances and Melody Park—a massive central open space with a permanent outdoor amphitheater for community music festivals.

• Vibrato Heights (Residential Suburb): A quiet, upscale residential neighborhood of spacious Single-Family Homes. These estates feature large basements or detached garage structures designed to be soundproofed into massive private studios.

2. Fully Functional Band System

Sims are no longer locked into playing solo. They can create, join, and manage full groups across multiple genres like Rock Bands, Jazz Quartets, or Orchestral Ensembles. - This is all the A.I. I would like to add an idea that sims can both become solo recording musicians or join "boy bands" or "rock bands".

I also would like another function where sims can learn a string/brass/woodwind instrument and either form a quartet or join the local orchestra. I have no idea how that part would work but - I just want to say this would not just apply to rock bands. Perhaps they could pull off by adding choir to the game who knows! Seems a tad ambitious - but I have big ideas. We'll see what they'd be able to pull off

• Band Formation & Roles: Form a group and assign your Sims to specific roles: Frontman/Vocalist, Lead Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer, or Keyboardist/Pianist.

• Band Chemistry & Drama: Group relationships dynamically affect performance quality. High chemistry leads to "Flawless Sets," while low chemistry or creative differences can trigger on-stage arguments, missed cues, or messy band breakups.

• The Gig System: Hire a manager, negotiate contracts, and book gigs at local dive bars or massive festival stadiums. A "Gig Setup" phase allows you to physically place your band's amps, instruments, and pyrotechnics on a venue stage before the event challenge begins.

3. Dynamic Songwriting & Studio Recording

The pack updates music creation from a passive progress bar into a collaborative, item-driven art form.

• The Lyric Notebook: A physical or digital item used to brainstorm hooks and write lyrics. Sims can gain temporary "Creative Sparks" to write hits by experiencing major life events (breakups, exploration, wild nights out).

• Modular Recording Studios: Use new Build/Buy equipment like Soundproofing Isolation Booths for vocalists and Mixing Consoles to engineer tracks.

• Audio Engineer Skill: Sims can specialize in mixing and mastering. A talented engineer can polish a low-skill band's raw tracks into a masterpiece, while a bad mix can ruin a perfect performance.

• Distribution & Monetization: Assemble singles into EPs or LPs and design custom album art.

o The Independent Route: Upload tracks to "Simify" to earn instant, small daily royalties based on streaming views while handling your own social media marketing.

o The Record Label Route: Pitch masters to a major label for a massive upfront Simoleon advance and radio airplay, at the cost of giving up a percentage of profits and a slice of creative control. – This action could have consequences – perhaps random change in your sims personality – or that could be entirely up to you.

4. Massive Instrument Expansion Catalog

To support these styles, the game would introduce an expansive catalog of gear organized by instrument families, complete with unique visual interactions and classic Sims-style mishaps:

Instrument Family Included Gear Gameplay Mechanics & Interactions

Percussion Acoustic drum kits, space-saving electronic drum pads, cowbells, tambourines. Distinct animations for jazz brushes vs. heavy rock fills. Lose cymbals can fly off, or sticks can break and fly into the crowd.

Amplified & Electric Sharp-edged heavy metal guitars, vintage blues models, electric bass, synthesizers, keytars. Requires a Stage Amplifier object. Low-handiness Sims can overheat the amp, cause fire, or receive a non-lethal shock.

Classical Strings Violins, violas, cellos, upright double bass, sheet music stands. High-tension strings can snap violently, causing a temporary Tense or Scared mood let. Master musicians play concertos, while beginners screech.

Brass & Woodwinds Soprano/Alto saxophones, trumpets, trombones, flutes, clarinets. Unlocks street busking animations. Low-fitness Sims can run out of breath and faint during a long, intense horn solo.

Me again! If anyone has anything else to add to this or any critiques feel free to add some. Please upvote so developers can see this if you want to be able to do more with music in your game - k pop groups, play with an orchestra, block parties, story building, crappy high school rock bands, keeping your neighbors up by shredding your guitar in the garage - the choices are endless. I know I'm already daydreaming about what I could do with this in my game.

Happy Simming!
