Trying to like/love Sims 4 and I think this could help
To start I find Sims 4 unplayable with out extensive tuning mods, this game as-is is very frustrating (and more customization should be held in the gameplay options/settings). I never modded Sims 3 till after all the EPs/SPs came out, as I found it was a very playable game even without mods just using cheats when needed.
I am a Sims 3 player trying to like/love Sims 4 but there are definite blocks and possible patch updates that could remedy this. Background I am a fan of Supernatural so I bought Realm of Magic, Vampires, Werewolves, Paranormal, as well as Life & Death (this was what lead me to to give Sims 4 a chance), Crystal Creations, etc.
- More cross patch friendliness. I got Outdoor Retreat for Herbalism and Bug Collecting but was very sad to see bugs are only in that one vacation world and that their inventory thumbnail is the same image (I found this very lazy and loved how bugs where handled in Sims 3).
- Skills should open like in Sims 3, I want to see skill statistics and challenges, as well as seeing what I unlocked besides they one time pop up notice. Skills feel like they lack substance in the GUI.
- More layering and mirrored jewelry. There is an arm band in Realm of Magic that could be layered with bracelets but it won't let you (it takes up the bracelet slot) and there is a bangle bracelet with rings that would really be great if it also came mirrored with the left hand.
- Too many build/buy colour swatches don't match, I tried to match Realm of Magic with Life & Death furniture and the wood colours don't match and it is very annoying. If you are going to take Create-A-Style away at least have the build/buy brown/red wood colours match cross patch wise.
- This is probably a not possible but I really wish the Magic Realm had 1 residential lot (on it's own floating island) and that we could edit the Magic Realm for custom HQs.
- Crystal Tree is not on the Gardening Notebook which I found sad that you can research and it not be noted :(
- I want to be able to edit/customize a town before making households like in Sims 3.
- The Grim Reward eyes option for Vampire form only would be nice instead of having to be both exclusively.
- When all else fails don't stop cross pack compatibility and play catch up with the past ones not yet providing this.
- Lastly NPCs/Townies need to back off, if I do not know them I do not want them bugging me or my Sims. The interrupting interactions and intruding on 1v1 conversations is really turning me off the game
I am probably not your majority player base but I think I should have a chance to voice my wish list that could help me like/love Sims 4 or I might just give up, stop bothering and stop buying packs.
