Urgent: Improve the Marketplace by Expanding Modular Furniture Options

Hello, dev team and community!

I’d like to propose an update focused on evolving the modular furniture system and strengthening the creator ecosystem (Marketplace). My proposal is built on two main pillars:

1. Bringing Modular Sofas to the Base Game

Currently, modular sofas are exclusive to the Dream Home Decorator Game Pack. I propose that this functionality be extended to the Base Game.

This wouldn't diminish the value of the pack, as the main draw of Dream Home Decorator remains the interactive Interior Decorator career and its vast catalog of unique items. Extending this to the Base Game would allow all players to have a more flexible and modern building experience. Furthermore, it would enable Makers to create new modular sofa sets in various styles, moving beyond the specific aesthetics provided by the Game Pack.

At least one of these base game sofa models could become modular.

2. Expanding Modular and Interactive Functionality for Makers

To make the Marketplace more attractive without requiring a massive investment in new assets from Maxis, the game could unlock modular functionalities for other categories.

It would be a total game-changer to allow creators to develop native modular content for:

• Curtains;
• TV Stands/Media Consoles;
• Wardrobes and Dressers;
• Bookshelves;
• Wall Shelves;
• Computer Desks.

Keep in mind that they could simply create modular pieces separately, but that would be a setback to the menu organization achieved so far. Therefore, expanding the modular furniture catalog simply makes sense.
