Hi ! I love that pronouns have been added to the English version of the game, but it's been more than a year now that this update came out and I feel like we haven't had any news for it coming to other languages. I understand that it is not easy for every languages, but could we have news for it, especially when it was said to be coming for other languages ?

You guys made it so people can use custom and type them themselves ! A least give us that option too ! I don’t care if I have to type « iel » and « ellui », I juste want queer francophones to be able to represent themselves and who they truly are ! It’s been years… I am a student in linguistic, I KNOW it’s tough to translate, and it’s a subject that’s still in debate, but since anglophones are able to literally type themselves their pronouns, that option should also be given to the rest of the player base. We really feel left out, like we do not matter. No one ever talks about it anymore. I guess americans have the update so that’s enough. 🤷♀️ It’s not like The Sims never aknowledge the non-english-speaking part of the player base, right ? 🙄

Hi @wjandin,Some of the languages we support require us to create entirely new words and phrases to account for pronouns usage correctly, this is something we absolutely have to get right and the downside of that is that it requires enormous time and effort to accomplish and implement. That said, we don't have anything to announce just yet in regards to availability.

I mean, its been a year since they posted this in brazilian portuguese: Pronomes Personalizáveis Disponíveis no The Sims™ 4 (ea.com).The eternal waiting is killing me, once we don't even have mods for pronouns.As a nonbinary person, i really really hate my sims being called "wrong" every single time just 'cause we still don't have this option.I'm not a fluent english speaker, i'm using the translator right now.

@Lalo_Reley I agree, the idea that itd take all this time and effort to make it happen in other languages seems like a lame excuse to me for it to have been a year and still nothing. I mean, they already have the masculine and feminine pronouns and phrases for the languages that work that way...at least allow the option to switch between them! And can't they allow people to type in theit own pronouns and just leave the phrases as they are? It might sound a bit funny but most people in my experience who use different pronouns are used to that, and would be happy to have been able to type in their own regardless of how odd it sounds in sentences.And as for inventing new words...I'm pretty sure most other languages have done that already? They just need to research what they are... like in Spanish, the gender neutral is, for example, "bonitx," masculine and feminine is "bonito" and "bonita." It's already been invented they just need to edit their phrases, which I get is a lot of work...Could they not, in the meantime, allow to choose either masculine or feminine pronouns?

The fact that Maxis didn't even do the bare minimum by allowing the players to swap pronouns between He/Him and She/Her is very strange.
It shouldn't be difficult because the game already does it with Grim Reaper (Male gender with She/Her pronoun in French since The Sims 1).

It's been 3 years! I play in German, I am nonbinary, I create a lot of nonbinary sims it's really frustrating to just feel like the sims team dropped the ball on this one. I get it there isn't a simple widely accepted third pronoun option in many languages, then let me type in my own. If you feel like you aren't able to provide proper grammar at this time make it an optional setting i can toggle on in the game settings with an info that there might occur some grammar issues when toggled on. Or at least give me the option to choose English pronouns when saving a sim to the gallery so not all my sims default to she/her or he/him when displayed in an English game...

i agree, i play the game in Dutch and it's never there, why only the simmers which plays The Sims 4 in English language?
it should be there for each languages, NOT just English

I am also waiting that we get the option in German. The english speakers can't even imagine how frustrating it is, that they have it 3!!!! years now and we can't even make it for ourselves. I'd rather have it finally than perfect wording or phrasing, because the wording and phrasing is messed up at the moment anyways.

What would help is an update on development. How are we even supposed to expect this to happen when we don't know if its still being worked on and wasn't silently canceled?

Hello! I've never posted here before, but as the title of this post implies, I've been wondering more and more often when the pronouns update that was created during 2022 for the English language would be available in other languages? It's been two years now, and I'm honestly beginning to wonder if EA is still working on it or not...
Obviously I know that there's a billion other things they're working on, but still, getting any sort of feedback on this topic would be nice.

Edit: oh ok, didn't realized there was already another place talking about the topic... Which can of make it worse actually, because like @Lalo_Reley said, EA could simply give us the option to customize the pronouns ourselves and it would be great! What's the hold up?

It's almost been another year... please at least give us the option to change between male and female. I was really hyped about this feature as an enby but so much time has passed with no updates to this situation and I just feel forgotten alongside with all other non english speaking players around the world.

@thornwill Yes I think the idea that itd be so complicated is a lame excuse, they should be able to at least allow the player to choose between masculine and feminine pronouns, as that is already in the game.

I think it'd be a great thing to add the option to initially change just between male and female pronouns in other languages, at least we would have the mechanic and the ability to change some pronouns.
