I am a young guy myself who has never played the earlier sims games. After trying out TS2 for the first time... I can never go back to TS4 because of how much detail just got left out for... What reason?.
I have not bought a SINGLE expansion pack for the game because they can be quite expensive (I'm a broke young guy ok!) and my Steam funds can go to way better places. I used to think the base game was enough, but after seeing TS2,TS4 seems very empty, and I've seen videos on 2014 base game TS4 and it looked even MORE empty.
This game has existed for 10 years now, and a game from 20 years ago is more enjoyable. This is not how you make a good game EA! TS5 better have a plentiful base game with plentiful expansion packs that are worth people's hard earned money. If not, then maybe just idk, make a remaster of sims 1,2 and 3 because making sims 4 and future sims games an actually good experience without shredding your last paycheck seems to be out of the question.
And yes, I get it, mods do exist, but if you should not need to rely on mods to make a game a bit more enjoyable because the base game and even with a few expansion packs won't cut it.

@wasikm007 Honestly, by the time The Sims 5 releases, I don't think anybody is going to care. Nearly everyone doesn't like the sims 4 because of it's shallow base game and ridiculous packs and prices. TS5 is probably going to be much of the same, just amplified a little bit. Nobody is going to want to support a game that will probably be extremely bare-bones at launch and staying empty until packs are released and bought. EA should just stop and forget about the sims franchise as a whole before they think about ANYTHING after The Sims 5, if that even happens to begin with. I'm just praying they don't make Skate 4 an empty game where you need to rely on expansion packs to make the game slightly more fun.

@FrNK776 Just throwing it out there that there is no Sims 5 in the works right now. There's misconceptions that Project Rene is The Sims 5, but it's not. EA has even cleared that up in many statements.
- wasikm00712 months agoSeasoned Veteran@FrNK776 Hello, If you look a little closer to what I have written and as LegacySims2017 pointed out as well, "There were some recent leaks of Project Rene, as the Sims 5 is tossed. And well... even though it is shown in its early stages of development, many are already upset and find it a complete joke."
The game itself is not played like it has in the past. In fact, it is far more like a mobile version of the game. Not only are the looks of the sims and content appalling, it is how the game is played that mirrors strongly to a mobile version of the game made for PCs. Some are semi shocked over this and even more are enraged of the overall appearances of the game.
In honesty, I was not happy at the "Shallow base game and ridiculous packs and prices." as you have said FrNK776. But... I find the graphics of the game to be so much better and the contents of the furnishings and decorations/clutter to be really amazing. That is what kept me going with this game. I kept wanting to play the sims 3, but wanted the Sims 4 items LOL. So, once the bigger sales came out is when I started buying them.
