I love kits, I think their value varies from kit to kit. I've bought most of them except for Bust the Dust and Modern Menswear because they looked like the least value for money IMO. I know Bust the Dust adds gameplay but I've been told of annoying bugs for some players so I didn't bother with that one. I'm adding First Fits next time I create a family.
The best value kit for me is Decor to the Max. I think it's well worth it and surpassed my expectations. It's not just the items, it's also the large variety of colour swatches available for each item.
On console though, we can't bundle and I'd like to see maybe 3 for 2 offers on kits or free kits with a large purchase. I was just talking to a couple of young players about this the other day when I had a young relative pop by. I've bought her quite a lot of Sims Xbox content in one big purchase one Xmas (before the base game went free) and when I was paying for it all I was thinking, when I'm buying so many packs in one purchase it would be great to get a free pack thrown in. Because if she was on PC I could have made a bundle purchase.
Her friend hadn't heard about the free Desert Luxe offer last year (another very good kit). She couldn't believe she'd missed out and only has the base game due to financial restraints. So I wish that had been made permanently free with the download of the base game or if that kind of free kit offer could be a recurring thing for anyone who missed out the first time.
@simsplayer818 I only own the Desert Luxe kit due to last years offer, and I agree with you about a free kit being thrown in if you make a big purchase.
I forgot to mention that kits are also not included in the bundle and save offer. You would think that would be included as it is part of game play and they are a pack...
- @Tranterbleu, not only can you not bundle them, they've stopped making stuff packs, so if you already have all the stuff packs you want, you can never bundle anything again.
Then again, maybe they've actually stopped offering bundles since you still can't bundle HSY or MWS and I believe Werewolves. Could this in fact be a quiet phase-out of bundles? We'll see.
To answer your question, yes, I'd like to see the kits on sale or included in some promotion like buy a pack, get a free kit or BOGO on two kits. Kits are US$4.99 but here in Canada, the price is $6.99, which at today's exchange rate is US$5.29. That's not as bad as the pound-to-US dollar conversion rate (US$6.52), but we non-Americans are still being asked to pay more, and for what's in these kits, I can't rationalize it. I buy all other pack types on sale for similar reasons, and they're way more worthwhile to me than kits.You are right @PandoraTO I always found that the Expansion, Game and Stuff packs were unbalanced. If I'm to be honest with you, I've never bundled always waited for the sale as I found they worked out cheaper!
Interesting thought about the phasing-out of bundles. I always thought that the packs were still 'new' and wouldn't be on offer yet. The last sale, Expansion packs were 50% off except for 'Growing Together and 'High School Years' which were about 25% off.

@Tranterbleu You are right about Canadian prices I looked at my receipt it was $6.99 + .91 tax = $7.90 for Canada per Kit our exchange rate isn't the best. Kits don't go on sale but that is how I have bought many of my packs. I have only been playing Sim 4 for 2 years so anytime there was a sale I was so ready = Yay! Shopping spree! LOL
I think of this game as a game only though. I don't need the reality so much to have Sims doing laundry and dusting of all things or Season that kills the plants even in the desert when winter strikes with snow! Not a fan of the air conditioning, heating, Sims overheating or freezing or the extra cost in bills. Way to ambitious that pack! Got it removed eventually (a bunch of back and forth talking to them) and they gave no refund.
