So, one of my sims got engaged, and right away, they invited 15 friends over for an engagement party, but forgot to make food or hire a caterer! I remember back in the Sims 2 days, all you had to do...
I think one of the Blast from the Past rewards might also be a buffet table. But your sim can still cook something during the party, if that's required. Or perhaps order a pizza?
