Constant relationship decay

My husband plays on xbox and I'm on PC, He has to spend all of his time repairing relationships and as soon as he does the bar instantly turns red and the sims are yelling at each other. I don't know if its part of the luvstruck pack but it makes it so difficult for him to play anything. All his time is spent fixing relationships.
