Crawdad Quarter Lots Not Loading

All four of the lots associated with the Crawdad Quarter neighborhood in Willow Creek will not load for me. The load screen just sits there. I've taken all mods out of my game, started a new game file folder, repaired the game, updated my drivers, and tried just building on the lots and visiting as well with an active family. Nothing seems to work. This issue seems to have started with the last update, 10-22-2024.

  • ashesinchains  Please open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you find.  Remove the Mods folder as well.  Try again to load one of these lots, and see whether you get a new LE.  If you do, please attach it to a reply here.  You'll need to delete the first line of the file.

  • So as of the mini-patch on October 31, three of the four lots of Crawdad Quarter are now accessible to me. The lots were completely empty upon loading them though (they weren't before). The only lot that still won't load for me has an Error Code:800 and tells me it's recommended I relaunch the game. That specific lot is a Residential Rental lot on my game. I did some research and it seems Residential Rental lots are quite buggy on any lots in Crawdad Quarter. I'm assuming that's what is happening to that specific lot. I don't know how to fix it though. At least I got three out of the four lots back though. If anyone has any suggestions, please fire away.

  • ashesinchains  Can you load the lot in Build mode?  If so, you can try changing the type replacing the lot with a different build (from your Library or the Gallery, but please use a new build that's not a rental), or simply bulldozing the lot.

ashesinchains  There are a number of things that can cause lots to become inaccessible.  As you noted, residential rentals are one of the leading causes but there are other causes.  Some CC and mods will do it, usually broken.  Fixing it is difficult at best and more often than not, not possible.  And if you have an orange triangle with an exclamation point in it over the lot in map view, that is a sign that the lot (and the save) has corrupted.  If that is the case, then you should abandon the save and start a new one.  It can't be fixed.

If you don't have the triangle and can't get into the lot in build mode from the map, the only thing you can really do is to try to place another lot on top of it from the map.  I would suggest that you find a vacate lot of the same size and save that to your Library, then use that to attempt to replace the problem lot.  You can try that several times, but chances are, it won't work and then it's probably best to abandon the save and start a new one.

Probably not what you wanted to hear but when you have the situation you do, it's usually best to start over.

        Hope this helps
