Just an fyi the read intro thing never popped up for me and still doesn't. It just says re-read, put away, and put into inventory. 

Having the same issue.  I've had my Sim read the book several times and had other members of the household read it but its not registering that its completed.  I noticed the name of the book and the name in the event differ even though its the same book.  

I also tried it in another save and a new save. The option for read the intro doesn't appear. 

I am also having this issue.  Several people have read it many times but it has not registered.  Hope there’s a fix soon!

Having the same issue. 'read the intro' never came up for me either. now I cant progress on the rewards.

Did anyone find a solution to this?

My Reaper Rewards JUST barely started working again after not working the last two weeks! Now this!! :(

Same.  I know there is an issue with TwistedMexi's BetterBuildBuy, but I have that turned off.  Have you tried with no mods?

Not a solution but mine started working this week with the next scenario update... however because I didn't finish last week this weeks scenarios aren't starting. Thankfully there's extra time given but why not release the scenarios from the initial week? That way player who want the rewards don't have to tune in for a few hours each week... err nevermind. They did this whole thing to boost player numbers, no way they'd do something that would be detrimental to that. I enjoyed this, won't lie, but if they want to do things like this THEY HAVE TO QA the heck out of it otherwise its a doggy doodoo, lol. 

No mods so that isn't an issue, lol. I'm specifically playing without them because of the event. It's a clean install too. I hadn't played in years but am a bit of a goth so... yeah the event enticed me but I'm literally only tuning in for the event. I complete the scenarios then move onto something else. Star Stable Online's Halloween Festival, Planet Zoo, Planer Coaster, Ark Survival Evolved's Fear event (you can put the event in any time but I like it during the actual even even if they don't do it for Evolved anymore), Skyrim, Stardew Valley, etc. I play just about everything BUT the sims 4, lol. Still they snagged my little goth soul so guess I'm the fish on the hook! Lol. 

Had this bug happen to me today, looked up some videos, saw this one person get it with a spell castor, switched households to the Charm family, made Emilia read the book for me in the willow creek park, the intro prompt popped up for me no problem. I don't use mods in general, I repaired the game before hand and my vampire family couldn't do it still. It was only when I used a spell castor did that work. Lmk if this works for anyone else and gl all<3
