Infinite Loading Screen Since Recent Update

Hello,

I am having troubles with my game. When I start Sims, and select my household the game is stuck in an infinite loading loop. I've tried repairing the game, deleting cache files and starting with a new sims 4 folder but nothing has worked.

The saved game has the lot challenges; off the grid and recycle discipline. I don't know if maybe that is the problem.

I have no mods or cc.

Thanks!

  • chucles70  Choose Load Game rather than Resume, click the house, and you should see an icon to open it in Build/Buy rather than pressing the big Play button.

      Omfg, THANK YOU
I've been trying to find why this specific household i'm playing doesn't work for THREE days. I've tried everything, made a fresh ea file, deleted and re installing the game, desactivate smoothing edge, updating drivers, check the RAM, nothing worked, had to check solution in others languages and all and FINALLY i find this one.
      and it works.
Kinda pissed cause i lost a lot of time and it was the first time i played using this challenge, it seemed fun. Anyway, thank you cause i can finally go to sleep 🙏

      Okay thank you.

How can I go into build mode from the save though? It takes me straight to live mode.

It won’t load for me… I have all my major mods taken out with only cc installed…

chanel761  Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.  You don't need to save your progress.

If you still can't play properly with no mods or cc, please create your own thread describing the problem in more detail.

  • Ugh, I think this is my problem too. I started getting these infinite loading screens on around Friday while playing my favorite lot in Sulani, but at first I was able to crash out of the game and then re-launch and it would load right in, but over time it got progressively worse until I couldn't get in at all.  Accessing build mode through the save and turning off the 'Off the Grid' lot trait did solve the problem and allow me to get back to playing the lot.

I play rotationally, and I like to concentrate on different themes with different lots, and for this particular household, I'm actually having fun with the 'off the grid' tropical lifestyle, so I don't want to have to turn it off... :(  I just hope it gets fixed soon.

I was using the off grid trait for my eco lifestyle home. Its unfortunate that the lot trait is still so buggy. I do hope they fix it soon though.

I encountered this same problem, shortly after the Reaper event started. Loading forever, but it was any household. I had to keep force quitting Sims 4 to get out of it. In my case I was able to generate a new Sims 4 folder and put my save back afterwards and it's playing fine. I assumed that the Reaper event broke something. One of my lots is off the grid and I'm not having any problems now, but I'll keep that in mind should it happen again.

  • Im having the same issue but its only when my sim finishes work as a Grimtern under the reaper career. Once she finishes her shift it goes to travel back home but gets stuck on an infinite loading screen, the household is in ravenwood and does not have the lot trait “off the grid”.

  • Issa_Yarii xxAzul56xx  The Off the Grid issue was fixed in the most recent major patch, so it shouldn't be affecting anyone who's up to date.  The question for you two is whether this happens no matter which lot your sims try to visit, or it's specific to one lot/neighborhood/world.

Please start your own thread describing your issue, and please do test without mods or custom content if you normally use them.  You don't need to save your progress.

Since this thread's core issue is no longer relevant, I'll lock it here.
