July 23rd update wrecked my game

My game is completely broken. I can't leave or save the game without forcing through task manager, I can't even open any of the menus besides my sim's needs. I took out mods and started a whole new save, repairing my game and nothing is helping! It's completely unplayable and I'm so sad because I love this game. I hope it gets fixed soon.

I'm having this exact problem!! I can't even play my game! My teen sim is at her second day of college alone about to age up and I can't even play my game because I can't save or use any of the menus!

I am also experiencing lots of bugs. I can't click on anything (aspirations, personality, family relationships) other than needs. I can't enter build mode. I can't zoom the camera in and out. Sometimes the screen goes completely black. What is up with EA releasing such a hideous mandatory update? I had been debating buying the new romance pack but given how buggy this update is there is no point. I can't play anyway. 

I have had the same issue. I really wanted my sim to adopt a baby and it did the same thing she would go to the end of the lot and then bug out and it would cancel. I even removed all of my CC to see if that would make any difference. I even let me adopt a cat but not a baby. 

me too. in my case, I use mods. Here's the scenario:
1.  When I started the game after the update, I launched the Sims 4. I ticked on the mods availability.
2. Everything's fine until I open the simology and friendship tab etc. Everything's jumbled, before the game finally froze and shut down on its own. It also errored the same way as you've described.
3. I tried to restart the game, changed the setting into mods-free. Opened my old save, everything's fine, but after I open the same tab (simology, etc), it crashed the same way as point 2.
4. I repaired the game. Still with the same setting (mods-free), opened my old save, but point 2 happened again.
5. So finally, I tried to launch the game mods-free, and started a new save. It all went well with all of the new features.
6. I tried to restart the game with the new save file, but with the CC on. It crashed. I do not install any of the mentioned mods in this forum (UI mod, MCC, etc.), I only use Scumbumbo's TeleportAnySim and Andrew's pose mod. Tried to remove them, but no effect. Still crashing. I wonder if it has anything to do with one or tens of thousands of my CC...
7. So now, my solution for my case is: I can only play the game vanilla and not with my old save, which is a total bummer... 😡

Haven't tried the new update yet. Let's see if this update works.
