NAPs still active

So, I only have eco lifestyle for the CAS/BB items, and I've turned off all the functionality of gameplay because it's so irritating.

And I still get townies getting mad at me having electronics and invading my sims home to destroy them. I can't get them to leave even after fighting them.

It's really annoying me, because I like and use a lot of CAS/BB, but its enough I'd get rid of the **bleep** pack just to not get annoyed by the townies with that nonsense.

Everything is checked off in game options in the main menu.

Does this affect anyone else?

  • zeezee85 Have you checked the mailbox option to see if you still have any NAPs active?  You'll have to repeal them if you do before the effects of the NAPS stop.  Don't forget to check and repeal them in every zone in every world.

    Hope this helps.

It's in a new save file, so there's no reason for any NAPs to be active. But I did have a look and it's completely blank so yeah, it's definitely a fault with the game.

  • zeezee85  Ok, I took a look at the NAPs.  There is not one that has destroying electronics or anything other object as an activity.  So, it isn't a NAP and no need to disable the pack.  I have run into this before except it was plumbing that was being broken by a group of sims.  In that case, the sims were members of the Renegades club (Wolfgang, Morgan, Max, Ulrike) which has sabotage objects as an activity.  That club is that way out of the box, so it is there in a new save.  So, if those 4 sims are the ones destroying your electronics, that might be your problem cause.  So, I suggest you take a look at that and remove the activity.

    Hope this helps.

    It doesn't at all.

Because it didn't take me long to find someone talking about the same instance on Reddit, and everyone there agreed it was a consequence that comes with using technology when "Back To The Old Days" is active. A nearby neighbour complains, then storms in your house and breaks your things and you have to get them to fight to leave. In this save, it was Robin Banks. In a previous save which was also created after I turned of NAPs, it was Malcolm Landgraab. This save is in New Crest, that one was in Willow Creek, nothing to do with the Renegades.

So yes, my sims are experiencing the consequences of a NAP when NAPs are inactive and on a fresh save so none have been elected. And I turned off NAPs way back when I first got the pack, because it took a week for them to annoy me and give me nothing to build on with game play. I won't be reactivating full stop, but again, this is a game issue, not a user one. Thanks.

zeezee85 Ok then, have you tried enacting that NAP then repealing it immediately using the instant enable and instant repeal options on the mailbox?  You should wait a few RL minutes between enabling and repealing.

    Hope this helps.

This sounds kind of like when someone has called your sim and asked if they are Vinny and if they can hide some money for them. If you’ve accepted they come by later to pick up the cash and then start breaking electronic items.
