Not being able to interact with other Sims in household

So after I updated the Sims, I was in the middle of gameplay and I haven’t been able to interact with other Sims in the household. When I attempt to click on them nothing happens, no  pop-up. Tried uninstalling the Sims on my computer and reinstalling it and that didn’t fix it. I also tried to making a new household and a new gameplay and that didn’t help either.  I do have some expansion packs and game and stuff  Packs that I have bought and kits that I also have installed I don’t know if that could be contributing to it or not.Is anybody else experiencing this? Or any suggestions on what I could do?
