For some reason, selling the sketchpad a few times and getting a new one and then just making a regular painting brought the Freelance option back. Thanks for your help!

The sketchpad still seems to have some issue, so I'm glad buying a new one finally worked.
Was it just the freelancer option that was missing or was the menu stripped from many options ?

Let me know if it happens again. The freelancer icon still doesn't show up for me even after selling it a few times
