The grid shown there is supposed to indicate the ceiling area of the room below.
With the angle of the image still in place, click on the ground floor. Do you see a yellow line appear in that grid? Click on that yellow line and you will see "Build Ceiling". If there is a "room" below, it is normal for the grid to appear there. In this case, the grid cannot be removed.
