Re: How to switch off the vampire pack in sims 4

@ElisabethLudvig I am in the same boat as you... I didn't get the Vampires pack until recently - and I build a lot so I got it for building items. I went through all of the households first thing and deleted apparent vampires/households, and I plan to do so if I become aware of any other ones. Apparently you can grow garlic so that will be my next step. I will add one or two planters of it by the doors. I will also be making and adding a garlic wreath/braid at the doors. Apparently there are other similar manners of protection, you can lock your outside doors plus bedroom doors, and don't answer or invite them in if they come to the door.
Also...

  • There is no ability to turn vampires off in the game by a toggle off or settings option. Apparently there is a Mod that will turn them off, but I don't use Mods. You have to maintain them carefully, and they can sometimes interfere with or break your game code if they are not functioning properly or if there is a game update that brakes the Mod/CC. So.... fair warning. Use with caution.
  • You can disable the Vampires pack, but you will also not be able to use the build items. All items from the pack will be disabled/not show.
To do this: In Origin, right-click the sims icon, choose Game Properties > Advanced Game Options > Command Line Arguments. Origin has to be online, then enter "-disablepacks:GP04" without the quotes / no spaces. Save the changes and the game will open with Vampires pack disabled. To re-enable it, they just remove the command line arguments and it will load with the pack again. https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2017/03/disable-single-packs/
  • Up-side is that apparently your sim will not be turned by a bite unless they ask to be.
  • This cheat will remove the vampire trait from the sim: Traits.Remove_Trait Trait_OccultVampire

Edit for the sake of a complete list:

  • Add a butler & you can set the butler to deny visitors, and the butler will make them leave!
  • Add the Private Dwelling trait to the lot.
  • I was reading ant there seems to be controversy about whether this works but it can't hurt - have them each carry a garlic bulb in their personal inventory.

  • Thank you so much @SheriGR for the very good advice. We have now garlic outside the door and it works very well and my daughter is Happy again 🙂 Thank you so much 😊 All the Best to you from Denmark 🇩🇰

@ElisabethLudvig Just read a nice tidbit... apparently if you have a butler you can set the butler to deny visitors, and the butler will make them leave!

@SheriGR, I never tried the Butler on Vampires!  :eahigh_file: Thanks for the information!  Now time to hire Jeeves the Vampire Denier! 😃

Sounds great, good luck with all the dodging of them 😃 😬 I'm a big fan of mods, and got that one early on, as garlic alone didn't work and was a tiring effort..  and Vampires running around biting sims when out and about didn't help.. 'ew'.. lol (lookjs disgusting, and I like realism for my game anyway, but loved the rest of the stuff in the pack)

If all else fails, I guess going into town mode and removing the vampire trait from the worst townie Vampire perpetrators may also help..

    Happy 'Vampy' Simming 😉

@Sashas0nic, I've never had them attack any Sims when I was "out and about"! 🤔  I've only had them autonomously bite /drink when they broke into a home.  🤨  It could be that I don't play rotationally (except in a few saves, which I rarely play), so perhaps the Vamps that were biting autonomously were ones that you had once played and then went to play another family? 🤔

It was just having the townies in the town doing it at all when sims were out, nightclub etc @PugLove888 , not necessarily my own.. they are just 'yuk' imo biting rampantly everywhere..

@Sashas0nic, wow!  I have never seen that in my game at all! 😮 (I saw it in Sims 2, but not Sims 4).  Could one of your Mods have allowed this ability?🤔

@PugLove888 no it was not a mod causing it.

It was also when the pack first came out, only even had it for a few weeks before the mod was available, put simply I just don't like them and prefer a realistic game also why I have 'no mermaids'.

    Happy Simming

nb: it also sounds strange that your Vampires, do nothing Vampire-y (fight /bite each other etc) when you're out and about tbh: ie: with other Vampires and Townies interacting? Saw it quite a bit, and I always take my Sims everywhere.  No idea if townies are 'bitten' at their home or not. Anyway, am glad to have the stuff and no Vampires is all.

Weird that I have never encountered it.  🤨🤔 The only Vampires I had bite another Sim that I wasn't playing was when they would break into homes to drink.  And since a patch a little while back, they rarely even do that anymore! :eahigh_file:  I'll ask some friends to see if they have ever seen this happen to them or someone they know... 🙂
